What does a group of people who want to get together to speak Spanish have to do with Swiss people and discrimination? There ARE Swiss people who speak Spanish. No one banned Swiss Spanish speakers.
I'm sorry I entered this thread. I though you were joking around.

I really don't get what the fuss is about. Using a foreign language without translation for the benefit of non-speakers of that language is unfair, I agree - but I don't see that happening on Seyon's thread.
Asking to meet other speakers of your own language, on the other hand, is perfectly reasonable. How often do we see requests to meet other South Africans or Australians? How often do we see people looking for fellow cyclists or rowers?
The English Forum itself is not the be-all-and-end-all of foreigner life in Switzerland. Rather, it is the marketplace through which new friendships and acqaintances are made, whether by shared language, shared interest or shared origin.
So long as we all use English on the forum itself, I don't see a problem.
So what's up, Mr Return?

| | Re: Marsians in EF? | Quote: | | | | Well, that excludes the overwhelming majority of English speakers on the planet.
Why don't you set up a "Europeans4Integration.ch" forum if it's that important to you? | | | | | "Europeans" as a way to be able to live together with people from many different countries and culture.
To avoid stupid posts like "Swiss are discriminating foreigners".
Yeah I would create "Europeans4Integration.ch" but it will not work:
People prefer to says things like "Swiss are discriminating", "foreigners are poor victims", instead of thinking and value respect, integration, cultural exchanges.
And this forum include the overwhelming majority of English speakers on the planet. why making a spanish one HERE?

I though it was funny anyway.
Which doesn't mean to say that true words aren't sometimes spoken in jest, but that doesn't make them less funny.
Of course if you weren't in the other thread you won't understand.

As far as I'm concerned and I quote..."Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn".

The problem starts when some people call Swiss people racist, discriminating against foreigners, and then they wonder why?
When we will start to respect them they will respect us.

You're clearly mad as a bag of spiders. I'm out of this thread. | | | | | Who said "entirely" the fault?
Who blamed "Spanish speakers of the forum?"
I referred to a topic with responses in Spanish only, in Englishforum.ch where the guy feel the need to organize meetups for "Spanish speaking people" only.
Now there's not much wrong in that except that those people have already the opportunity to meet the overwhelming majority of English speakers on the planet. (and meet any people whatever their origin) but no it has to be "for spanish speakers only". Then as you said why they don't create "Spanishforum.ch" instead?
And that some other people are complaining about discrimination made by Swiss people towards "foreigners".

But if the non speaking spanish people want to learn spanish then they could go to learn the spanish they cant speak. And while we are on the subject, what does that make those people that had the audacity to sneak off and meet up for KFC?? The dirty rotten b.........s. So then if we are only treating the Spanish speakers as being discriminatory, then what does that make us? maybe discriminatory perhaps?

Swiss people are discriminating against foreigner, that's proven. "We" have established that point with certitude. It has also been made clear that old Swiss people were racist.
So you can not be respected (while watching boobs, while doing whatever).
But we haven't reached a clear verdict as regard to "foreigner discriminating foreigner". So I don't know if an English speaking Spanier can respect you?
Some said that Obama is from foreigner origins and yet has been elected, proving there's no discrimination whatsoever.
No seriously Swiss people can read the forum, what will be their reaction towards "foreigners in Switzerland" if they read they are called racists and discriminatory? Do you really think that's constructive and will help "them and us" share their beautiful country???
That's what I'm upset about.

I think to understand the OP, you have to follow the Politics forum.
But really, who would want to do that if you have the boobies thread? | The following 2 users would like to thank Suisse2008 for this useful post: | |

Dude, you need to get the chip off your shoulder and relax. Have a read of "Stiller" by Max Frisch, and then try defending Switzerland again, because right now you're Getting It Wrong.
