| | My whinge
Last week I was riding my Velo to the pharmacy. I had to cross over a path to park my bike, and within 10 seconds of my going into the pharmacy an elderly Swiss man came in and tapped me on the shoulder.
His translated words were..... " did you know your are not allowed to ride a velo on a foot path ?" in a very angry voice, with that he turned round and walked out of the shop ......i was so shocked that he was even bothered to come in the shop to have a dig at me, with that i decided to go outside the shop to save anymore embaresment and shouted to the interfering swiss arxehxxe, why dont you just mind your fxxxxxxx bxxxxxxxx you xxxx.
Now I'm not normally a hot headed Englishman but i think it done the trick .

I think it's kind of cute. But in my trade it's expected for oldtimers to take you to the mat any chance they get, and expected that you accept it and move on .

If he's anything like me he's probably pig sick of dodging cyclists on the pathway; you were probably the straw that broke the camel's back and he just blew his stack so I wouldn't take it personally.

Patience is your friend, water off a duck's back and all of that. Welcome to Switzerland, Europe's Old Aged Pensioners' home.
On another note: Who peddled you those pedals on your velo? |

You might want to start carrying some Dignitas leaflets around with you as a silent response to the old chaps who get your goat.

You've been here for 5 years and this surprised you?
Too many bike riders think the own the trails, roads, etc... I'm with the old man, but then again, I'm over 40.
