The trick is to store upside down, and then when you want some squeeze from the top (ie bottom of the bottle) if you see what I mean. Then the delicious red gooyness only has one way to escape, onto your chips.
Thread reminds of a little rhyme about old bottles:
"When you shake the ketchup bottle,
None'll come, and then the lot'll"

| | | | | Yeah yeah, we've done the common sense thing already.
Far easier just to have a plastic bottle with the same mouth as the glass bottle.

The neck of the "narrow-neck" plastic bottle has perrrrdy much the same internal diameter as the neck of the glass bottle that we all know and love |

At least the one I am looking at does. | | | | | First came across a large plastic bottle of ketchup with the diaphragm slit (yikes, sounds too close to birth control or canal) in a mountain restaurant - thought it was the best invention since, uh, velcro strapped sneakers. I marvelled at it for the best of two minutes and kept squirting the ketchup onto our fries and watching how cleanly it finished off - till my other half sensibly but firmly took it away from me.

UTH
If your still looking for glass bottle of Heinz I some I think in Migros City by Lowenplatz this week - think it is the style your looking for.
I think it was a new product with vinegar, although i only looked quickly so may have been mistaken..... tomato ketchup + vinager.....seems a bit strange to me?
Why don't you try it and give us some feedback, I am not a ketchup man myself.

The whole slam against your hand in order to get anything out drill | | | | | Make sure lid is attached securely, hold tight and flick the bottle. The ketchup moves towards the lid. MAKE SURE THE LID IS ATTACHED SECURELY. And, make sure the lid is attached securely. | Quote: | | | | | That was the wrongest of all wrong.
I sure someone told me they'd withdrawn them since in the face of a huge public cry of 'FAIL!' | | | | | Very glad to here it (marmite).
Ketchup and vinegar - tried and tested on fish and chips throughout Britain.

You obviously get a bit over excited with these, a gentle slow squeeze gets the best result each time . The Marmite one is the best.
