Stop messing with the classics...

Grrrr...

Those new Heinz Plastic bottles with the drip free flat nozzle.
You squeeze, and squeeze, and then squeeze and then wham, a huge splatter and dollop of ketchup all in one place.

Bring back the glass (recyclable) bottles with the metal (recyclable) caps and a huge mouth to pour from.

NO

Are you storing the open bottle in your refrigerator with the cap downward, where the ketchup settles at the lid end rather than air? If so, you should be able to avoid the squeezing and the messy surprise explosion.

I just reread and will now beat anyone else by adding "That's what she said" to my own post.

Re: Stop messing with the classics...

My sister brought me over a squeezable jar of marmite. It all worked fine, until we went for a week in the mountains. It was stored at home lid down, so the air is at the top. Someone put it in the cupboard in our holiday apartment face up. Air pressure in the mountains is lower than at Basel level. The bubble of air started forcing marmite out of the top, under pressure!

Re: Stop messing with the classics...

There are many different size and shape bottles of Heinz ketchup available - it just depends on where you shop.
Up till now I've found 57 varieties.

Agree. Something similar to putting some salt in your food and the top comes off and you are left with a white mountain in your plate

For me it's like drinking a fizzy drink out of a glass bottle as opposed to a plastic one... It just feels like it tastes better.

New?!! You don't buy Heinz often do you; these babies have been around for awhile and are a god-send for those of us with children or are clumsy like me.

They aren't very recyclable if you have to thrown them out of the window in disgust and frustration

I sure someone told me they'd withdrawn them since in the face of a huge public cry of 'FAIL!'

All these new plastic abominations suffer from the same over-splurge flaw...Marmite, Heinz, Colemans Mustard.
