A coffin in the living room ? Never heard of somebody having one in the apartment. What you of course can have at home is the urn. I think that to have a coffin (with human remains in it) in your apartment is ILlegal.

Just to clarify. He was a vampire-esque thing. Tattoos, piercings and a split tongue. The coffin was for him plus the walls were all adorned with Marilyn Mansion and undead paraphernalia. I never had a vampire speak to me in Swiss German before, so I guess it was different. I should have taken pictures.

You can't take a photo of one...... they don't even reflect in the mirror.
I would hang out in French Restaurants to make sure the Garlic repels them.

The rooms in the flat I'm moving out of are so popular (location, roof terrace and price = people preparing to lie and bribe to get in) that we had to create a really complicated and fussy application process to root out the idiots. Before we did that, we had 50 people applying within two days, after which point we took the ad down. Because you usually have quite cramped living conditions in the communal areas (we have no living room, one shower/wc for five people, more if the significant others are staying over and a tiny kitchen), you really need to gel with your housemates and have the same attitude to dirt and noise. Two years ago, the owner of the house decided that THEY would choose who lives with us and it's been pretty much awful ever since.
So that's why it's so hard to get a room. And even if you do pick wisely, you'll still fight. We have two princesses who only do housework if forced at gunpoint and refuse to own up to any of the mess they make. If they are too drunk to unlock the front door, they just ring the bell to be let in, regardless of whether other people have to get up early. And then there's the man drama... I'm counting the days until I move.

Oh, and they are not too drunk to open the door, just too lazy to search their bag for the keys!
