Swisscom Billing - someone changed the policy

I am getting increasingly annoyed at Swisscom s billing system . Some months no bill comes, then a summary of "arrears" pops through the letter box. I know some techies would say just use the on line billing system but call me an old GG but I like keeping a paper copy of my invoices. Is it that they are trying to force people to use the online system to save money? I don`t know but for at least 6 months now they have got much worse on the paper trail.

Re: Swisscom Billing - someone changed the policy

If you aren't getting a bill some months they might have just carried your bill over to the next month.

This is done by many companies for small bills and yes it is to save money since it costs them money to produce a bill, pack it in an envelope and post it. Their T&Cs should have a clause about it.

My bills are the same within 20 chf every month. If they change the invoicing system to save money it would be considerate to pass that saving on to the customer who signed a contract with specific fees and charges already specified in their terms. On this occasion though I don`t think thats the reason . I suspect its an example of a corporation looking to push clients into their desired system. All stealth like

Last year our Swisscom bill went to every other month. No late fees, just less admin for them I suppose. Pain in the a**!

CHF 20 is a small bill. I still think that they rolled it over into the next bill. My cable company does this and Swisscom does this for my few calls that go through them. I get a bill every 6 months for 15 rappen

It will be in their T&Cs that they can change their invoicing at any time. You are still being billed CHF 20 per month, just not billed every month.

Pushing you to use online billing by charging you extra per month to print you a paper invoice and post it to you would be unfair but it is probably going to head that way soon. The banks have been passing on the postage costs to their customers for a while now.

My bill is within chf20 each month, it is not chf20 each month. it is generally just under chf100

Sounds like. You should send them a stern letter and then go for a soothing walk up a mountain

My Swisscom bill goes directly to my PostFinance ebanking account every month. I can then verify it and choose when to pay it. If I want to know the billing details, I check via the Swisscom website.

Which is I suspect their cunning plan to push all customers into. Well I think they should be upfront about it rather than this rubbish approach. They have since admitted over the phone to mrs GG that in fact their were months that were not invoiced so they just "stuck it on to the unpaid arrears summary" which wasnt unpaid arrears in fact. Either Im just unlucky or others are getting the same short shrift

When they stopped sending me monthly bills and started pushing the amount owed onto the next month, they did send me a letter explaining the change. I was very lucky to catch it though as they send so much marketing junk that I normally toss away the letters unopenend. It was exactly one of those envelopes, so it could possibly be that you missed it for that reason?

Something about saving on administrational costs.

So its true then, Swisscom are going down the same road as the banks and others, saving costs at the cost of the customer by reducing service and not giving a crap about what the customer thinks. I think that stinks really. I bet Nestle get a monthly bill and don`t just get it added onto the next month!
Its only a question of a monthly bill now but what comes afterwards? Indian call centres like the Uk banks?
Im now in full rant mode

If you sign up to bills by email you still get a PDF attachment which you can print off if you so desire.

Not sure why you would want a hard copy and to not just save the PDF. THINK OF THE ENVIRONMENT!

Well thats all well and good. I agree that we should all do something to save trees or whatever.I just don`t see why a large corporation can save itself a tonne of money by stealth and not pass it on to the customer.

And yes I probably was asleep because I naively thought that Swisscom were genuinely an OK company, but I reckon there have been some changes at the top, which is why I posted the thread.
