Although I have my own washer and dryer in my new flat, I've got serious "washing envy" towards the guys in the houses next to us - the ground floor flats have a flight of stairs going directly into their own massive cellar space AND a washing room with washing lines and an ironing board. All for themselves. Amazing.

Yeh and the oh so precise Swiss time that seems to have a mind of its own ....

In the case of shared laundry facilities 'a complete waste of our time'.

Except if the washing machine in the laundry room takes 56 mins on the 60C programme and the same programme on my own machine takes 1hr 12.

16 extra minutes of Facebook time while waiting for my machine to finish.

Less time, but did you factor the time it takes to walk up and down the stairs in this precision equation + checking the drum for stray black socks, transporting washing powder, perhaps getting down there to early having to wait, enough time for possible arguments with neighbours etc, etc, etc....ooooh the list goes on ?

Just think how lucky you are having your own machine, you can quite happily watch your washing go round in the drum in your own apartment for 1 hr 12 minutes while sitting in your jim jams..........................thats bliss to a other people ... you could even put it on twice just for the fun of it!

I have a TV for when I reach that level of boredom...

It seems that the Swiss do not hold a monopoly on laundry room troubles...

People like this bloke really test my will and temptation to sneak in a pile of dog poo into the machine when they wash.
