Ignorant drivers

Why is it that Swiss drivers always have to pull out in front of you even if there is nobody behind you for miles causing you to brake hard and then they sit in front of you doing 65 on an 80kmp road? Or 38 on a 50kmh road? Where you might have thought they were in a real hurry pulling out right before you?

Why can't they pass a biker? Or a tractor?

It happens to me every time and again this morning somebody just drove through without even looking which was just one too many Can't they stop, look and wait?

My rant of the day.

I guess for the same reason they push and shove to be the first on or off the train and then immediately stop just in- or outside the door to carefully contemplate their next move. Or the rush to the escalator only to just stand there precisely in the middle so nobody behind can walk up either!

Maybe it's just because it's Wednesday...

Simple answer: it's mandatory to drive that way if you want to get an AG plate.

Thanks for starting this thread. It happens to me alot nobody behind me a car pulls out infront of me then drives like a bloody snail grrrrrr ( I wonder would they do this in front of a police car). Some people should not be allowed on the road.

And then they turn off after 100 meters. Some people think it's their god given right to be in front of everyone. I have had to shelve my road rage, which was actually lotsa fun back home, as here I fear I really will kill some idiot.

I thought it was Karma catching up with me on the road.... Happy to know that I am not alone to be a victim of those King of the road (shared with bicycles, Mopeds, bikes, pedestrians, etc)

You didn't by chance happen to see one of these just prior to the car pulling out in front of you..?

I drove around here 6 months before I found out what that stupid sign meant, was always wondering why idiots on the road kept pulling out in front of me then flipping me off.

It means you have to give way to anyone coming out of a side road to your right. By law. In fact this applies anywhere you don't see this:

Re: Ignorant drivers

What i don't get is that this seems to be perfectly acceptable. The Swiss do this to each other all the time, and still you very rarely see anyone making any gestures or honking the horn.

It's like they have come to terms with the fact that most people on the road are blissfully oblivious that there are other people on the road at all, and nothing could ever change this state of bliss...

One of the reasons I just don't want to drive here... It makes no sense to me. Kind of like the tendency to only activate the turn signal once you're actually turning.

My husband went mad at me when I honked my horn at a car that pulled out in front of me, he said we don't do that here!!!

No problem, one of mine has a sidecar, used to haul wife and kids all over Europe with it.
