Is there any point in being tactful?

The police have caught you breaking the law, you whine to the boy friend whom tells you the police are wrong, and he obviously wants to keep on good terms with you. Then you whine here and I tell you to pay up, quickly.

The alternative is for me to write "Oh you poor thing, those nasty, nasty policeman! Just go to a lawyer and spend CHF 2,000 and he will surely help you get off the fine"

But he won't be able to will he? So grow up and pay up!
"Ittigen ..... calling Herr Ittigen ..... it's time for your next medication."

WTF...?!

I did not whine, whether to the BF nor here. I simply recounted an incident in the recent past where I had a similar experience as the OP.
Your interpretation of my posting and the slant you put on it reveals much more about you than I really want to know.

FYI, I have long since paid, after NOT whining, since obviously I was in the wrong.

Perhaps you should think a moment before you jump to wild conclusions.... or is that too much to ask?

Re: Traffic offense in Zurich

Same things happen to all of us. You snooze you lose. Be more vigilant next time. Zurich is known to be a revenue making paradise out of motorists. I paid mine with surplus. I know it sucks but believe me there is nothing you can do about it. Just pay it and HTFU and move on
