I just can't ignore [bad experience with classmate at Migros Klubschule]

Had joined a french course in Migros Klubschule, as I had pretty a lot of other course before, never had any problems til then, a woman from somewhere of east europe dress a bit....no response when U hello to her.....laughs at me each time-without real reasons sarcastically, til I explored to speak it out in the class.... as the others have known each other much longer than me......turns out, nobody was standing in my side, thought I was whatever oulalala-------. Really feel hurt a bit....anyway, I'm never gonna join any class in this school any more

I'm young, I know I should just better let it go, ignore it, control my emotions......but at that moment, just couldnt.....I really must say, Migros Klubschule is not so ideal either the course, or the people U usually meet there - generally many weird people compare with other schools.....anyway, it's my personal opinion...i just feel expressing it

From this, I also have learnt - No matter what happened, always more safe when I just be quiet.

Without knowing much about you, we cannot contribute in any way to your dilemma. An introduction would help us understand better. Thanks.

EDIT : As Ouchboy said.

Re: I just can't ignore

Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience.

I agree, ignoring is a useful skill. Doesn't have to mean being quiet all the time though. Sometimes it is more effective if you continue to talk normally to everyone else and just ignore the one person who is causing trouble.

Bullies in schools- its not new, and the bully is ALWAYS the coward. Have a bit of confidence and give as good as you get and don`t worry what the others think. If they follow a bully they are sheep and worth nothing.
Try the class once more otherwise the bully will think she has won, and make sure you`ve got some good put downs ready ! Good luck.

Re: I just can't ignore

Hello witch, don't let one person spoil your learning. Language classes will always be mixed cultural environment, so there will be differences in appropriacy, what's accepted, behaviour/clothes/smalltalk. Maybe she is nervous, so she needs to snub, ugly. And the flashy clothes...just imagine a culture being locked for 70years in hand made, recycled clothes and smuggled fake jeans, then all of a sudden you can put anything you want on yourself...just puts it in a slightly different perspective, the time from perestrojka isn't long enough, same goes for social skills, for some people. Ignore her.

I would just do my thing there, it's paid anyways, so just enjoy the rest of the classes...(I shopped for good Migros course when I wasn't happy with the one's I had, you do have a trial class afterall, and found a really good prof).

My mother in the 50ies and 60ies went to Italian lessons at Migros Klubschule, and to English lessons in the 70ies, 80ies and 90ies, and always had friendly folks around. And no problems. The only strange figure was, after some of the Italian lessons, the husband of a colleague in the course, a high-ranking police officer, who already was seriously drunk by 10.30am

and then back to your complaint :

"" .no response when U hello to her.....laughs at me each time-without real reasons sarcastically ""
A) the lack of politeness possibly has been a matter earlier on so that no one wanted to tackle this again. Possibly not so that they were/are against you, but that they felt a kind of over-reaction
B) her "laughing sarcastically" possibly had quite a different meaning from your assumptions

So I think you are saying the students in your class are being rude to you, and laugh at you when you speak French?

Have you complained to the Migros club school where you are enrolled? This would be the first place as we cannot help you otherwise.

As Ouchboy has said, it would be nice to read an introduction from you, it is in the rules.
