Squiddy: You have every right to be pissed off and complain about this crap. So go ahead eat your mozarella and kick up a fuss.

Tip from my personal experience:

I had constant delays with my Swisscom connection when I first got here. I got jerked around the phone too about how they have sent a technician (who never showed up) and how they are working on it etc.. What blew my fuse was one Customer service rep actually spoke rudely to me after me following up with them the 8th or 9th time when I was already 3 weeks late on getting my connection. So after giving her an earful I decided to sit on the internet and write an email to every head honco in Swisscom who's email address I could find (about 4 - 5 them ranging from their Head of Corporate Responsibility to their Infrastructure Head etc..) basically calling them all Douche bags who were there only because of the monopoly they have in CH and if they were in the US I would have taken their a** to the Consumer Courts (BBB). Well in 24 hours I received about 4 phone calls and my internet and landline were connected and I also received a thank you for your feedback personal email from one of the Jerks in their management.

p.s. Same tactic was used on my car dealership who did not respect my warranty because of some obscure fine print in german which I could not be bothered to read or understand.

Customer Service 101 my friend!

Aha I got a hold of the managing directors email .. and if all their emails are in the same format as his name Ill have the senior sen. VP of customer care, sen. VP of sales, VP of marketing & products.

If I follow the real stigs methods of dealing with poor customer service do you think thats enough to generate a response

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

I did it and all hell broke loose at their office so what do you have to loose? A few strokes at your key board and airing your grief to them and their shoddy ways should generally get the right attention..

Don't forget to add all your contact information so that they know that you are a genuine customer and not spam harrassing them.

Also don't forget to add that Jaro from EF does not agree with your approach and thinks that you shouldn't complain but you're doing it anyway because you don't care anymore and you've almost OD'ed on mozerella.

Ah yes I like where this is going.. Ill give them 2 more days to get their ac§t together (also whilst I word for word delicately compose this email) and if I dont get what I want by wednesday Ill just have to go to the next level.

and yes whilst there are conservative people such as Jaro firmly entrenched into the establishement thinking that poor customer service is acceptable and making complaints is the fault of the customer (the kind of person you want working for you at your call centre) Ill take one for the team and raise a ruckus.. then Ill head down to Casa di Mozzarella and grab me some of that Mozzarella Afumicata I just cant get enough of

As they will not find somebody speaking English, they will NOT call you again for the foreseeable future

On the next level you will have the choice to have assistance in Italian or Spanish or Portuguese or Albanian

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

I'm reluctant to take on EF's resident Self styled 'Guru of all things Swiss' so I'll only say that I mearly stated what I did during my first 2 - 3 months of innocence in CH. During that time I had not been indocrined yet (also known as taking the Swiss Pill) into the efficient and wise ways of the developed first world.

But all is well now.. I take my Swiss Pill twice a day and am at peace with everything around me..I am non-confrontational..Non-conversational with anyone I don't know apart from saying Greuzi.. I keep to myself on the tram.. I shake my head in disapproval at the drop of a dime.. I recycle whatever I can recycle.. Switch my car OFF at the red light.. Take no showers after 10 pm.. I have no expectations of service.. I have no problems in walking into my neighbourhood coop 5 mins before closing and being shooed away... Woooosaaaaa

read carefully Monkey, I'm first to bitch about cr@p service in CH and how weird some true Swiss can be. I've been spoiled after 18 years of living in the US.
I'm also first to show my displeasure to weak, unresourcefull people like you who claim to have lived in many countries yet can't google or ask the right questions about broadband options in CH and putting the right pressure on a company to get the services you want.

Not sure about you but to me those who are well travelled are also flexible and able to deal with minor inconveninces in life. Perhaps the only part of you that travelled is your finger on a map or (if you indeed have basic PC skills) your mouse in Google Maps

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

The statement "only watches work properly" is very extremist but can understand the rant given my experience of Geneva and the romands in general
I am coming from 1 week business trip in north africa and can tell you that having watches working properly is quite exceptional.

now now who is getting nasty now, "weak, unresourceful" have we resorted to name calling now... the lowest and bottom of the barrel form of debate, it also show the absence of a meaningful thought process.

Before you carry on being abusive take a second heck take the rest of the year, American, use that finger you seem to know so much about click back a few times. some where you will find this text

"Complaints corner (23 Viewing)
Something really annoyed you lately? (yes a few things have lately) Get it off your chest here (why thank you I think I might oblige). If you are easily offended, please look elsewhere."

Take a minute to stop look in the mirror, American, then ASk your self what does that mean. Then take that finger and.. well you know where to put it.

Extremest .. I wasnt calling for a fattwa on Switerland I was just of the line of thinking maybe the watches that work properly are made in Schaffhausen, and Zurich and the ones they sell here are chinese rip offs cause there seems to be a lot of delays here. Or maybe they like to sit and spend all their time waiting for stuff to get done admiring the wacthes

Looks like Ill have to make plans to go to Netherlands (there medications seem funenr), Spain and Greece at least 3 times a year + as well as a yearly trip to South East asia and back home just to de-program myself!!! I think the young American on here trying to abuse me has OD'd on the swiss pill (or perhaps shunted it).

Honestly speaking, Switzerland is not for anyone, it takes time, efforts and patience to get used to living here, so my only suggestion is, if you really that furious being here for few months, i would really advice you start searching for your next job / destination, cause you ain't seen anything yet of the Swiss system, it's a sophisticated system with lots of pros and cons, it requires patience, lots of communication and understanding of processes.

You are welcome to complain and we do try to help as possible from experience, but i feel your complain is different and my guess is you won't be happy living here.

Why is my complaint different?
I know what you are trying to say, and mate a place is only what you make of it.. I wasnt asking for anyone for help when I wrote this original post I just got off the phone extremely livid (30 minutes of being on hold only to be told this and that, we'll get back to you) so I thought good to blow off some steam.

Note to self limit complaints to fashion and noise pollution.
