Why is my complaint different?
I know what you are trying to say, and mate a place is only what you make of it.. I wasnt asking for anyone for help when I wrote this original post I just got off the phone extremely livid (30 minutes of being on hold only to be told this and that, we'll get back to you) and blowing off a some steam, and I know that there are many others who 100% agree with me even some of my patients agree.
Maybe just chill out, have a nice drink in the sun and a good long walk on the lake, i find that to be relaxing, vents all anger and reminds me of the beautiful things about CH.

I would suggest you go to the area around parc de la grange and baby plage, it's just super awesome there

Dude.. you're getting into a circular argument..there are 2 schools of thought on this... you clearly see the divide..

bottom line is to get your problems fixed... did what I told you work?

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

I thought it had no effect as I had no response however when I had a look at this post I checked my email and it was still in the out box. I sent the email this morning to the MD CEO and a whole bunch of other head honchos at cablecom and within 3 hours got a response from the vice president of customer service there saying he will personally get on to it, have my internet connected as well as have the cable modem sent to me express post AND compensate me for the stress caused

TRS i take my hat off to u

Raise a ruckus and u might actually get somewhere around here

lol yeah and the emails and phone calls keep coming.. Apologies from all the head honchos daily phone calls to updating me on the progress.. "here is my personal number if you have any problems please call me"
Its great..
I wonder if the other monkeys who are screwing me around.. those who do the B-permit or the OFFT would act the same if I ruffled a few feathers in the upper echelons of management.

Of course it would... if you could convince them to act like they aren't in the public sector. Good luck getting close enough to their feathers to do any ruffling.

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

You know what bub.. you wouldn't know unless you tried would you? There are about 151 posts on this thread.. more than half of them thought this wouldn't work but it did...

Regarding your permit... I would recommend that you take a friend / colleague's help to write a nice little letter in German about the delay of your permit and how it effects your job, apartment hunt etc etc... (the issues that this delay is causing you) and ask them to kindly speed up the process. Document how many times you have visited them and how long this has already taken...

Then take your Swiss friend / colleague with you to their office so that they can talk to them mano - e - mano and then hand them the letter.. See what happens next...

My theory is that once they take your letter they are acknowledging their delay and this puts you in a better position once you decided to go any higher with this problem..

Like I mentioned before what do you have to loose?

Dam right TRS

I have been fortunate in Switzerland, I only moved here after I had a job contract on my desk and believe it or not I found a pretty nice pad in central Geneva for less than 900 CHF, granted I did need my girlfriend to sign the lease too (even though she lives in Shcuffhausen) so in terms of Job and home Im set. The biggest issues with this B permit is the police harrasement. Its strange unlike in Geneva for some reason I dont feel that secure going up to Swiss Germany, its a mild paranoia that the cops up there are just waiting to bust any one who doesnt look swiss. (lucky Jesus isnt around he'd get totally harassed for being of middle eastern appearance). And the OFFT those lazy bastards got rude and angry when I tried to ask them to spell their email address... oh the difficulties of spelling.. and it didnt even work.

My girl says that trying to get something done in the govt bureaucracy (she had some long German name for it) would be as useful as banging my head against the wall, the people that work there pretty much have a higher level of job security than a doctor and a pension that is comes close to a politicians they dont care about performance because they are set for life. She (and a group of her friends) are however livid about how they operate (totally unrelated to me), they even wants to go to the extent of trying to get a vote to take some of their privileges away. I dont know much about that, dont care either, what I do know is that Ill have internet this weekend and finally Ill get to video skype the friends and family

Simple, your problem is that you live in Geneva... I live in Zurich, it took me a week to get my permit and two weeks for internet.... Your guys must have lost your file in between two desks!!!

Cablecom customers, they're really easy to please. Swisscom customers like myself get it setup within a day (call in the evening, package sent in the morning, arrives next day and is already set up).
Oh, we've had that topic before you say? Sorry about that...

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

First of all thats just the french part, like the actual french when it comes to organization and getting things done efficiently they are hopeless
secondly your in geneva their the worst at it, absolutely useless.
Trust me its much different in the swiss part, here everything is organized down to the letter
