Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

3 ing months Ive been waiting for internet and I live in the centre of Geneva
3 ing months Ive been waiting for a B permit.. (3 hours waiting at the office last week only to be told to keep waiting).. and in the 3 months Ive been stopped and searched by the zoll.

I used to think this country has a good quality of life and was really looking forward to moving here.. but the people here just dont give a sht (besides the number of beggars that roam the streets makes you wonder )

The institutions here are a joke.. "C'est comme ca" seems to be a way of life. ing monopolies on practically everything.. uuuugh there is no competition so no improvement in service.. For instance I tried to buy a monthly abonoment for the TPG transport system.. duh no I cant do it on line u have to come into the office.. and guess what everyone else in Geneva has to as well and there is only 2 or 3 offices in the whole geneva only 1 in central Geneva .. 1 1/2 hours wait

Australia even the UK seem to have their act together more

END RANT

Top rant!

Just one question, when you say got searched by the "zoll" did you mean you got searched by customs or got searched by the inch?

If it was by the inch, can you (ahem) let me know where that was?

You fail in your rant, because only people from Geneva think it is part of Switzerland. The rest of us, well...

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

3 months only!!!, i've been waiting my permit to be renewed since 1 year and haven't got it yet..........patience is all what you need and keep polite dealing with them, otherwise you might end up having nothing at all.

Geneva is too corrupt to function well me thinks

Have you tried calling the company to follow up with them? Maybe they lost your application?

It's fine and dandy to complain on the forum but if you only submitted an application without any kind of follow up after a sensible amount of time, who's to say what has happened? Could be an honest mistake.

My point was just that you can't and shouldn't judge CH on Geneva's performance. In any department. Ever. Period.

Although as a *cough splutter* major city, it is close to some damned fine skiing.

Switzerland is fine, its the number 3, I think, you should stay away from.

Its a jinxed number among Swiss French and even among Swiss Germans. Geneva is too far inland in France, its got to have some effect on it.

Re: Switzerland.. Only the watches work properly

When I moved here I ordered my internet package right away because I'd heard it could take a while to organize.

Seven weeks later, when I still hadn't heard anything from the company, I phoned them to check.

Turned out they had sent me a cable modem - the very next day - only to have it returned as "undeliverable" because my name wasn't on the mailbox yet. Oops.

Any chance you're in the same boat?

Geneva is not part of anywhere really and the citizens of it are "Genevoise" NOT "Swiss".....it's kinda honorary subsidiary of CH NOT really CH
