| | Littering in grill areas
I run regularly through the Altstetterwald and my home stretch is via Hasenrein which has a nice patch of grass overlooking the rooftops of Albisrieden and beyond. Hasenrein has a few grill areas and a lot of folks come on summer days to barbecue.
What gets my goat is the amount of litter people leave there. If you run through there on a Monday there is rubbish strewn everywhere - in some cases they haven't even attempted to put it in the bins (which are too small to take a significant amount anyway).
Why can't these people just take their cr@p home and stop spoiling an otherwise pleasant spot for the rest of us?
Cheers,
Nick

I am sure it's the furners. Local yokels would NEVER do such a thing. |

Both - well, some of both. Hate it, whoever does it.

I get really cheesed off when people litter too. When I was a kid, it was drummed into our heads that we were to always behave and act wherever we were as we would in our home. I also get annoyed with wads of gum that get spat out and slime blobs on the ground

I notice the same attitude to surroundings locally as in a third-world country. And if you comment on it, you're infringing on people's freedom to do as they (expletive) please.....
And no, it's not mainly the "furners" - it's mainly the (expletive) locals who don't know better, mostly because they haven't been taught how to behave while they were growing up. Of course, that would have been a hindrance to natural development of a nascent personality.
Makes me sick to see where we're going.

Isn't there a fine for littering here?
I have lately seen a lot littering by teens and people being scared to tell them what they think, just shaking their heads. But we are swamped by festivals these days, so I guess people think they can trash the place.

OK if you party in a park or beach- then go on to Club- taking rubbish away is not practical. But just get a party together to go back next day with a couple of bin liners and get it sorted.

I always thought the Picnic areas and such were incredibly tidy, with the locals packing all rubbish up and taking it with in areas with no bins.

The stretch of lake near us is a disgrace the evening after a nice sunny day, with a liberal scattering of food papers, disposable barbecues, beer cans and even discarded nappies.
However the next morning, usually when I am on my running circuit around 6.30, it's nearly all cleared away thanks to a fleet of ride-on vacuum cleaners, and chaps with bin bags and grabbers.
A couple of years ago a load of bins were installed in the area but it didn't do any good.
Mucky pups.
