Moderators, can we close this thread now? In retrospect I shouldnt have called the tram driver a racist...maybe he was maybe he wasnt but I dont want to spend another minute thinking about it...and yes some replies were helpful, some were plain mean and one person actually banned me...which goes to show the level of tolerance here....but strangely this thread has taught me what not to do and to be more tolerant. Thanks!
Again, can we close the thread plz?

That's negative reputation.

Click on the 'control panel' button at the top of your screen, under your name, then scroll down. You'll see who gave you the negative reputation and the comment s/he made when s/he did it.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, if I were you. It's only a red blob. It won't come to your house and pull faces through the window.

No, but it should be teaching you to toughen up a little bit ;)

Perhaps because after having to deal with a large number of racist comments throughout ones life, some people do start to get defensive. I can understand that.

Racism/Classism/Xenophobia is rampant here, like nothing I've ever seen before. That said, I'm willing to believe the tram operator in the OP's case was keeping a schedule.

I've huffed it a few times to try and catch a tram and had the same thing happen. At least it's only 7 minutes until the next one.

To see a tram or a train departing when you are less than a meter away is something experienced by most people.

Whether the women sitting on the crack was Swiss or not does not matter, but I suppose that she was from a "north-of-the-Alps" European country, while the "Muslim women" most likely was from a Muslim country. As you can see in countries like Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Netherlands etc, more or less xenophobe right-wing parties get between 18% and 30% of the votes. So that Switzerland is right in the middle of the field. I don't know what you have seen before. But reality in Austria, Germany, France and the Netherland is sometimes worse and sometimes less evil.

If the card gets overplayed it loses its impact and things will never move forward. Racism is a terrible thing in society but people looking for it where it doesn't exist are just diluting its severity unnecessarily.
