40CHF????? For a fake? Hei, in Greece was only 20 euros... Though they have a nasty crisis over there... Maybe the fake industry is also taking its toll...

(the woman on the beach selling them was actually trying to convince the tourists they were so expensive because she had to pay the plane ticket to Italy to buy them... Probably directly from Milan... )
No those are fakes of fakes if you see what I mean. If you want a real fake you've got to pay for it.

The women selling the real fakes have to pay the plane to China. That's what makes them so expensive.

Ok, I use very wide words sometimes- Just saying it does not fit a 18 year old style- How many different style they have that LV bag is not one of them.

Simply because of the price, image, etc... it's more of a rich lady thing.
Or the "I want easy money, easy things" type, that's why I said "prostitute".

The point is she is not a poor victim. That's annoy me to even read such article!

Hell, im STILL in debt from Uni. Got nothing to do with buying cigarettes and cheap bags
Quite frankly that could mean anything.

Some people are in debt from Uni, paying off the staggering sum of 3.25 GBP per month, and won't have to pay anything some 20-odd years after graduating if they are still in debt...

Re: Two out of five young Swiss to live with debt

I've got debts, which are being paid off slowly but surely.

I'm just hoping to win the Euromillions today. Shise, then I can pay off everybodies debts!!

But there is no way I shall buy myself an LV bag (or maybe a couple of fakes)

And if it's about young women and "look" (trying to look trendy)- she does it wrong: a LV bag only make her look like a Chinese tourist or a prostitute. In my opinion- Mind you I don't know any rich woman who have one, so i'm not saying every one with LV bag is a prostitute: i'm saying it don't fit with look of normal youngs).

[Mischief hat on]

CTR has a point. LV bags are on every Asian tourist and working girl in the Carlton bar on a Tuesday night.

I can't without more input. Can you tell us more about those hooker encounters of yours? How many Asian tourists are in the Carlton bar on an average Tuesday?

Debts from uni are way different than getting more than you can afford, as a teen in apprentisage, after probably a free local school. .

True, but I wouldnt have made it through uni without a credit card to pay for food at certain stages. And I was drinking emu bitter and nasi goreng, plus working two jobs. So don't assume anything when it comes to students.

Of course, Swiss uni's might be a lot different to straya in that respect

I am not talking of unies at all, actually. Nor is the article. That was my point

Apprentisage is a whole different system than university here, and kids can enter anywhere from 15yr. Though, you can also combine the two systems, sure. In one they pay you, in the other you study for free (though there are fees, of course, books, dorms....). You can also get an apprentisage straight at the uni, but as a vocational program, with CFC at the end, not with your regular Bachelor.

I think if I had debts, I wouldn't smoke. It's the whole mindset. Every little thing counts to get rid off the debt as fast as possible. It's people who are not able to see little pennies accumulating that get into debts. Every traffic fine, bottled drink here and there, resto food instead of sandwich, counts. But thats very personal. Some consider cigs and brand name bags neccessities, some don't. I don't care either way. But wish they portrayed the real trouble in real light, they seem to stereotype awfully a lot and say these poor kids have no idea what they are doing. I do not think it's a school fault, might be if people do not put pressure on kids, ie materialism without income is a doomed perspective. But, voila.

Sure you are.

I see debts because you study as investments in future. I don't see LVs, cars, costly habits, fancy pcs as investments.

But cultures are different. Here and where I am from university does not leave you set back for 10 and more years of paying back. Schools are inexpensive, althouth life isn't. What a start, then, being a teen, and already having debts for things that are actually not so necessary, without having to actually invets in education and career since they pay you to attend here in apprentisages.

In Swiss unis tuition fees are failrly moderate for a start. In the range of about 1K per year (they're currently debating increasing this). Of course you've still got the rent and bills to think of but students from poor backgrounds can get support. Switzerland being a small country, many of my co-students also swallowed their pride and managed to live at home, some commuting considerable distances every day.

But if you're too good to do menial work and must have a fancy appartment in the university area, then you must also find the cash to pay for it.
