Rain, rain, rain!

Will it ever stop? Are we doomed to forty days and forty nights?

The animals have begun lining up in pairs at the door. It might be time to buy an ark.

Re: Rain, rain, rain!

It's sunny now!

Oh, it's gone.

Last night's "dry, rain, thunder & lightning, heavy rain, dry" in about 10 minutes was fun.

I think the forecast for rain over the next few days means showers. Luckily (!) I'm having to work this weekend (postponed from last weekend) and I actually prefer to see bad weather outside my window when I'm stuck inside typing SAP upgrade commands.

Re: Rain, rain, rain!

Actually, I can't complain about the cooler nights. Much easier to sleep.

We had a lightning strike very close to the house last night. Sent the cats running up the walls!

Go out in the rain! It's just water.

I haven't noticed them doing it this summer yet, but last summer two young boys and their father both ran into the street, during a very very heavy rain storm one day, wearing swimming trunks. The kids loved it! They just ran around the street splashing and laughing.

How come that Moderating on here, answering important questions, moving Threads, removing Spam and linking links counts as 'free-time occupation' after finishing any necessary house-work (ask Mr Longbyt!) but 'writing amusing posts and collecting 'Thanks' on EF', counts as 'typing SAP upgrade commands' and 'working this weekend' for certain members? Equality of the sexes. Bah.

St. Swithin's Day, if it doth rain,
For forty days it shall remain.

St.Swithin's day was 15th July, so we've still got a way to go

LOL! Did one of them injure themselves trying to run up a wall or swing round a lamp post?

Re: Rain, rain, rain!

To be fair though, it has only been going on a week... this happens at some point every summer, doesn't it ? Last year the weather was dodgy from about 25 July right through to the middle of August.

It does look like next week will be warmer even if it's still showery.

We did that last week, and my little one ended up in the hospital for 4days, with bronchiolitis. So now we have to stay out of cold water.

She's much better now.

Just hoping the heaven's more or less empty themselves before mid-August - I can't believe this can keep up forever. Need mid August to mid September to be dry to save our Shakespeare in the Courtyard in Basel Festival. Please all keep fingers crossed.

Re: Rain, rain, rain!

It's not so bad right now. You have to try to sneak out whenever you see a single scattered thunder shower cloud vanished. Enjoy few minutes and then back to the bedroom NB I kinda enjoy it - free car wash

Re: Rain, rain, rain!

Well, I am loving it!

Sub-25 degree days in the middle of summer.. makes this cool kiwi happy.
Heard from family that it snowed below 2000m in Verbier today!

Pregnant wife is also loving it.
