Hey Folks: reality check here.

Those grannies are law-abiding, upright citizens and if they feel any discrimination coming from more than a few non-Swiss residents, you can bet your knitted booties, their anger and frustration will be felt in the next round of voting.
Like those more swiss than the swiss of this forum would say: This is the way Switzerland as been this wonderful country you moved in, so why would you want to impose your way of thinking on them, bla bla bla...

Accept it or leave it!

I find the swiss of this forum much more cool and relax than the more swiss than the swiss...

Meh. Doesn't make a difference. There'll always be a Granny who got up earlier.

More like die of starvation at the rate Madam was ordering her loaves.
... you'd love breathing down my neck. I typically buy six loaves for the freezer, then pick out some treats. While my stuff is being packed, reaching for my wallet, I might step back, hopefully crushing your toesies, "Oh, pardon!"

You mean someone is packing your stuff for you?
There's a whole 20 odd pages on that somewhere

You must have mistaken me for someone else, Madam.

I'm British. I show no emotions in public and certainly don't invade other people's personal space. So I doubt very much you'd notice any irritation on my part, nor step on my toes.

Ah, but you see she doesn't have all day. She could drop dead at any point.
Couldn't she show a bit of consideration and do it before standing in front of us busy people in the shop queues though?

Carlos, the only time I found you on the tram was when I woke up so late I almost had to call in sick, I always get to the bakery at 7:30 and there are maybe 2 people in front of me, when I go at 7 not even crickets...If I go at 8 it is grannies galore

Re: Public announcement - Shopping hours to be adjusted

Don't you realise it's not easy being a Granny? You must think that they choose to go through all the that apparent spontaneous mind changing at the last moment charade for the personal enjoyment. Don't you know it's all a part of an enormous international conspiracy? Its purpose is to ensure frustration amongst the masses and thereby divert attention from money grabbing politicians etc.
Some Grannies have trained for decades in order to perfect their technique. It's not only the Decision/Dithering tactic to learn, there's the Origami Payment System using folded up bank notes one whereby each individual note has to be seperately folded and occupy its own little space in the depths of the voluminous handbag. Then there's the question of timing, finding the exact correct slot in the queue and then the exact moment in which to drop the bag of small change all over the floor. Honestly, have a little understanding of what these people have been through to get to this level of expertise.

I imagine it's hard to shop at the store and buy your lottery tickets while simultaneously keeping an eye on your neighbors.

My son has been invented to challenge those expert grannies. He has the knack to find the grumpiest one in the bus and, taking his most serious voice, asks her innocently if she is a witch.

On a particular occasion, he even asked a really old one why she wasn't dead yet. And guess who spotted immediately the granny with a badly adjusted wig?

Even for a grumpy granny, it's ever so difficult to be truly offended by a serious-looking, bespectacled 5-year old... Mwahahaha....

P.S. At these moments I'm usually hiding under my seat pretending he's nt my child...

It isn't my fault that you had a shit job where you had to get up at the crack of dawn. Start your own complaint thread (although as you've changed jobs, I don't know if that is still up for discussion).

Thankfully she was a bit past her sell-by date, she didn't really understand the comment and I sort of dragged my son away before he could repeat it.

Worse is, he doesn't want to be insulting on purpose, he just has no notion of taboo and says what passes through his head

Some of us grannies still have got all our marbles- and the common sense to shop mid-week and avoid rush hours- not to help you, but because it is much more pleasant, lol.
