| | BlueWin offers no English movies anymore?
It seems that lately BlueWin (Video on Demand) have no more Movies shown in their original version! Its something i can NOT live with at all! I cant bare watching movies being synced into French or German..
What happened? Why did they get it off?
All older movies ive seen already do have English but the newest dont anymore |

Not sure if you've tried this, but often it will only say German and French as language options for English movies then you can switch to the original audio (English) with the 'dual' language button at the bottom of the remote...

It's no longer called BlueWin TV, it's been rebranded to Swisscom TV. If you want to see what language(s) you can view a film in check Swisscom's website.

It would say underneath the movie main screen: Langue; Allemande/Anglaise or whatever language your Digibox is set to.
But lately that Anglaise part is lacking and very limited on new broadcasted movies.
Ive been watching more german syncing that anything else (Im Dutch so thats a bit easier)
I thought an English option would be standard nowadays and not shown anymore so i keep renting them finding out its not english at all. In other words wasted 6 francs per movie. And buying movies in shops is just nuts when you just want to see it one time. I guess thanks to Swisscom i come to realize i need a life indeed.. Starting today! haha

I think the system may have changed. I've not looked at the latest monthly magazine yet with film listings, but my husband mentioned that movies should now be available in their original language. I think he said that there is a new symbol indicating that the film can be seen in the original language and that pressing the pause button allows you to choose the language. I don't have the magazine to check for you (I took it to our holiday flat and left it there) but check it out when your magazine arrives.

Perhaps SwisscomTV decided most of their Swiss customers prefer dubbed films to subtitles? On Netflix, I was starting to watch a French science fiction film Eden Log, but I stopped when I realized it was dubbed in English. It's not that I understand French, but I hate dubbed films---I'd rather watch a subtitled film and hear the actors speak---and ACT---in their actual voices. (I don't feel the same way about animated films, particularly if the dubbing is well done, but even with "good" dubbed live-action films, there's obviously something wrong.)
Fortunately, that isn't the case with most foreign films available for streaming, but if most Swiss customers prefer dubbing, I can't blame SwisscomTV for catering to them than a minority of customers who prefer English.
This may sound like a 20th Century option, but if there is still a way to rent a hard DVD disc, you still should have the option to hear the original language without dubbing or subtitles.

| | | | | Its there still in the way its always been, at least it is on mine. You go to rent the movie, there is a screen which gives a description of the movie and it will tell you in which languages it is available. Buy the movie and when it starts, press the blue button on your handset for options and select the language that you want from the menu....it will be the same as the list on the info screen. It never (for me) came up on the screen because of the language of the digibox.
Hope that works.

Yep, I'm with Caviarchips, same as always.
Click on the info button when you see the film you want and it will tell you which languages you can see it in. If the original was in English, then 95% of those films will have an English option. No change on my TV.
