Yes no more discussion of non veg dishes on the forum or halal meat as it might offend vegetarians.
Incidentally I feel the sudden urge to eat some foi gras | The following 2 users would like to thank sun&rain for this useful post:

| | Re: Selecting Avatars | Quote: | | | | | I agree absolutely. PM on the way.
Nil first mentioned this topic in another thread but it's good to take the bull by the horns and now openly discuss.
Avatars are the only visuals we have most posters. If you want to present yourself as a Jesus-hater, remember that's how I'm going to envision you until I've met you in person. I met Dodgyken this weekend am still convinced he wears pink underclothes. | | | | | This attitude shows me more tolerance than any of ''why should we care'' people who post a reply.
Tolerance is knowing how important it can be for other people and accepting it, being respectful about it.
Tolerance is not a one way from one side. You want believers to be tolerant to non-believers and not annoye them with their religions, you should be able, non-believers to respect the believers in the faith and not go nasty, disrespectful and careless of their beliefs.
It goes BOTH side!

Second, I have mentioned my faith a few times on this forum.
Islam is tolerant but i am not, ofcourse i am using the freedom of speech, omg Muslims cant do it
I AM JUST USING MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH, what the hell is wrong with you sick people.

You had the chance to make this topic interesting and thought-provoking but your responses have left much to be desired. You could have done better, my friend.

So you should have freedom of speech but other members are not allowed..
You're not doing you or your beliefs any favours mate. I don't care what religion you are as I have no aversion or preference to any...however I do think you're coming across as a bit of a pillock.

Let's not lower ourselves and be trolled into turning this into a religious debate. It is freedom of expression vs an idiot.

Ali the message your avatar gives me is that you are looking for Jesus and wanting to become a good little Christian. Not very offensive. On the other hand if you are looking for Jesus to collect a bounty then maybe come over with some nails, hammer and couple of wooden beams and I could help you get to him |

Otherwise why do you allow other people to have such an influence on your behavior? This impulsive reaction thing, increases the importance of the other person.
psychological game: the attention seeker.

I would choose the 'ignore option' if I were you. I can somehow understand your anger about disrespect, but to express it in this way - not a good idea

You know, your muslim friends with muslims kids? Those who are not in any way like Zuger's avatar but are very insulting for their religion itself?
Why?
Because it is showing a muslim with a bomb. I hate the terrorists. They should be punished. But to show pictures like that makes us, normal people look like them.
You don't have to understand that, you don't even have to accept it, but for your friends, co-forumers, etc. you could respect it.

You missed my point Nil. I was referring to his comments on receiving negative rep, nothing to do with muslims or religion.
I have great respect for anyone's beliefs, however I do not think playing fire with fire is the way to resolve it. I understand you being offended with the avatar and the way you handled in your thread it was mature and not inciteful. This dude just wants to wind up a relgious argument between members. That is why I made any comments I made.
