I dont know if this should be in complaint corner but i am offended by the new avatar selected by a forum member Zuger

I am not against freedom of speech but respect for people from another religion is different.

I hated selecting my new avatar just to make people feel how do i feel :mad:

This is Switzerland/Europe you're free to mock religion as you wish. Long may it remain so the day we are not free to question, mock and criticise systems is the day we become dictated too.

It's called freedom of speech and that includes the right to question and offend religions as individuals please.

I'm a athesist but I respect others for their choices.

Including those who perhaps have less tolerance and might need educating (person in question).

Perhaps a quiet PM to the member explaining why you found it offensive is the way to go.

Not a tit for tat avatar war. I don't find either offensive by the way.

I couldn't care less both religions are witchcraft as far as I am concerned. To many wars faught over this mumbo jumbo.

I am not going to PM him beacuse he intentionally offended me (us); no one changes his avatar daily and it needs some serious thinking behind having an avatar.

Two wrongs don't make a right but it sure makes us even.

Why are you offended? are you presuming that his avatar is of the Prophet? (I don't read Arabic script so maybe it says that on his head?)

Personally I don't find your Avatar offensive, either. But I'm not a Christian and I don't love Jesus.

If you did post a mocking image of my faith I would just keep scrolling and not openly express my disappointment. But that's just me.

Nil first mentioned this topic in another thread but it's good to take the bull by the horns and now openly discuss.

Avatars are the only visuals we have of most posters. If you want to present yourself as a Jesus-hater, fine, but remember that's how I'm going to envision you until I've met you in person. I met Dodgyken this weekend and am still convinced he wears pink underclothes. :)

Perhaps you're reading too much into this some people do change avatars daily.

You've proved exactly why religion is a problem, a lack of tolerance. It should be education excercise and not all guns blazing.

You're just proving the wrongly held values of the person with the offending avatar to be correct.

Stand up be the bigger person..don't rise to it.

No but maybe it will pass the message to the mods who don't seems to care enough for those members of this religion who could feel very offended by it.

I agree with you. Also, I'd say Jesus is already quite used to this "Wanted ! -stuff". I'm sure he wouldn't mind anymore. ;)

First, calling my faith "filthy" isn't going to elicite a positive or even a neutral response and your doing so only serves to reinforce the stereotype that Islam is an intollerant faith (even though I know it is not, and that there are only intollerant people).

Second, I have mentioned my faith a few times on this forum.
