Sorry, I'm completely out of sympathy for you. I even tried empathy but I'm out of that as well.

but you kindsortainaway did actually forget. As the job-seeker, surely you could be expected to keep careful track of the dates and times of your interviews? I think the reason you're not getting much sympathy on this thread is because most people feel even if the HR contact was remiss about confirming, the onus is on you--you're the one who wants to work. Forgetting French names a lot is probably a little "the dog ate my homework." | Quote: | | | | | You may have misunderstood the title of this thread. Working for a major financial organization as I do, we receive many applications which are filed as follows:
a) Not worth responding to
b) May be able to apply a damp cloth around the urinals off-peak
c) Typical bank fodder; rude, no character - invite back for an interview
d) CEO material - lazy, lots of contacts on Linked In
e) Fails the elbow test, employ as PA immediately.

Still, this is the complaint corner and I have something to rant about! | | | | | But honestly: You are ranting that some agent didn't follow up his email. He thought you know his name (cause he said it), where you applied to, what job you applied to and where his office is... so if you schedule a meeting, there is not that much to tell you again.
You on the other hand:
- did not write down the name
- did not ask for the company
- ...
- have no clue about applying.
I am trying to be constructive here, but you are a pretty hopeless case. You said you discussed the job. Do you remember the title or something specific? Search for it in your application emails to narrow it down...
