Mice droppings on my toast...eeeek!

I was just making french toast for lunch. Opened up a bag of Mehrkorntoast Brot, started throwing the slices in the egg mixture, noticed some black things swimming in the egg mixture, threw the slices into the frying pan, reached in the bag for more toast and was horrified and disgusted to find a big clump of mice pellets clumped together stuck on the bottom side of the bread!!

After sort of recovering from the shock and disgust, I place a phone call to Coop to inform them of what happened. The guy on the phone was nice enough, took down all the info. and said someone might get back to me. So now I'm just wondering what they are going to do about it!

Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

I am sure they will do something about it.

Just be thankful that you spotted them before eating the first slice

I drank water out of a coffee mug that had them inside it.
Nothing happened to me.

Why does that seem even more disgusting than mice poo?

The idea that a place that is producing food has mice (or rats) running around makes me shudder.

Re: Mice droppings on my toast...eeeek!

I ate my mom's meals for nearly 20 years, and I'm still alive. Try to beat that.

On a more serious note: yuck ! You (OP) might have a mouse in the pantry, and he could have crawled in the bag AFTER the kids ate their slices. Possible ?

He! He! Here is one for the Müesli-freaks.
Because it is impossible to keep mice out of grain supplies EU rules allow up to five mouse pellets per kilo of grain.
Remember that when you eat your wholegrain bread.

I remember commodity code that I used to have to put in for inter-country trade.. so a turkey without feather, head and feet is a 70% turkey that got a code, then turkey without feather, head, feet and gilbert is another % code.. so you get the idea..

so in this case.. 5 dropping per kilo is xxx grain and no dropping is AAA grain?

No, it looks like the bread was put on top of the pile of droppings either before it went in the oven or while it was still hot, because there is an indentation in the bread and it's kinda flattened and stuck together.

................Okay ... I bow to your superior knowledge. I too would recognise mouse droppings ... I think ......?
I hope!

When I was a kid ...... Dad opened a tin of sweetcorn ... and out fell a cooked frog mushed into the sweetcorn! (took me about 10 years to get over that!).....
