I read the whole thing ... my eyes hurt a little

i kind of see what he means (not the bashing part) ... but is frustration talking, well more like writing, ... when you look for a job and you compared yourself to other people... who have jobs, and complain about little things...

because when you look for jobs your concerns are more about how to pay rent, life, food....you get that kind of thinking. That all the "lucky ones" dont apreciate the things they have and complain about little stuff.

I know it happens to me also, but it only last 15 secs and then i get distracted by the internet ... and instead of comparing my situation, i try to focused on my short goals and try to make things work ..

you know.. is all about trying and trying and trying .. until something works out

In one of the other threads he had, the one where he said he was thinking about moving to either Norway or Switzerland.

Moving from Germany to...Switzerland or Norway?

Re: No place for me in Switzerland

He sounds a bit like the Dutch guy we had over from germany little while ago, complaining how he can't find a job here and is ready to give up, you know the one who wants a CHF 250k job in the "aggressive american culture" or something like that...He was also from germany

I thought it was him for a second. These german based corporate people are starting to act like these Texans trying to get into CH.

Typical "English-speaking immigrant" attitude: "I'm better than you, I'm so good, you have failed, you are not worth a penny, kill yourself, etc...". If you are so good, and your countries are so much filled of people like you...why are the US, the UK and Ireland failed countries (economically and socially), and you had to escape from them?

You would not last 5 minutes in Nordic countries, with your attitude...thanks to the Jante Law.

Who is this Tweener, and who are you (let me guess...you are from England)? And what has "Chur" have anything to do with this discussion?
I work in IT security (Ethical Hacking/Penetration Testing), a field where people from England fail big time (http://yro.slashdot.org/story/11/08/...-In-London-Pub, loosing important unencrypted information stored in a USB key in a bloody Pub!!! How could they be so stupid, and not even be punished for this!!!)...

Why do you state in an earlier thread that you are from Eastern Europe and you will never go back there? Please judge yourself and your own country before judging that of others.

Re: No place for me in Switzerland

The answers I'm getting confirm my prejudices: Many immigrants from English-speaking countries (especially from England and the US), are the kind of people who enjoy kicking someone who is already down to the pavement...just for the sake of it, you know?
No wonder that you don't feel good in Switzerland...

You know, I wasn't going to get into this, but if you are so good why can't you a job? Perhaps it isn't your skill but your attitude? Something to think about.

PS, It doesn't say the contractor was English, BTW.

Huh? You're the one who came in with guns blazing. I feel great when I'm home in Switzerland. But thank you for your concern.

Exactly...it's really frustrating and unfair to see tons of people flocking from the UK, the US and Ireland (sometimes after having been partially responsible for the economic and social disasters currently playing there), with so little respect for Switzerland, but able to find highly payed jobs, with no knowledge of the local language, and such a bad attitude...only because they have the "right connections".
While someone who would be a good immigrant (a good "human resource" for the country), with a positive attitude, is kept out of the door because he doesn't have the "right connections"...Switzerland will regret this.
