It may be unfair to disparage the Italians as well as the English speaking world. According to Mr. Tozzi's public profile he lists his nationality as Corsica, technically part of France but historically associated to both France and Italy.
Did he finally update his profile? All the Corsicans I've ever met in my life were quite combative. Not that I didn't like them. But they did like their "heated debates". Maybe it's the culture. I don't know. Never been.

Wasn't Napoleon Bonaparte born in Corsica?

Aha! We have our answer. I'm feeling much more sympathetic to the OP now.

He was. And if memory serves me well, Corsica had become part of France only shortly before he was born, as it was before under the Genoese rule. (Because of that Corsicans considered themselves "Italians", and there have been people advocating that Corsica should annex to Italy. Some others by contrast have expressed a wish that Corsica and Sardinia become independent from France and Italy respectively and unite... but I'm digressing... )

one year before. And there is a Streit (disagreement? quarel?) about his date of birth anyway, so we'll never know if he was born the French year or the Genovan year.

I've also lived in France for 2 years at some point...guess what? People from England where the one that complained the most about the place, not contributing in any constructive way, and moaning moaning moaning...no wonder that the locals hated them.
That could hardly be a "point". The enchanting French hate everybody (well, they seem to favour a few, though). We're all peasants to them.

Streit (disagreement? quarel?)
in the context, "debate" would be a good word, though it's not a direct translation. Disagreement is OK too. Quarrel is more light-hearted, used for children or small issues (we're quarreling over what film to watch).

p.s. I'm assuming you wanted input on the word since you used ?
please feel free to fix my German in exchange

Well, using a quotation from an imperialist with less than impeccable credentials in terms of diversity might have seem an appropriate way to antagonize a troll late on a Friday night, but I wouldn't want it to be taken out of context on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

If that's both of the above, that's OK by me

Re: No place for me in Switzerland

Well, well, well, I don't log on for a couple of days and miss these pearls of threads

Marco, I understand the frustration of not finding a job and (perhaps) being discriminated against, but man, there is no need for all this negative attitude towards a forum that, with all its faults, helps lots of people daily to navigate the complexities of Swiss life. Plus, guess what? Bashing English speakers in here - of whom you know nothing about - is not going to help you find a job, not to mention that it's not the smartest thing to do. After all, you never know whom you may be bashing in here - perhaps a potential employer who, having seen your bad attitude, will run away from your CV in a heartbeat.

Aside from the (justifiable) angry replies, you have received some good tips and food for thought (re-read Roschti's and Nic80's posts). I wish you success in your job search, but what I seriously don't get is your sense of entitlement: from your posts, since I don't know you, you seem to think that you are so much better than everybody else, that you are entitled to a job in Switzerland, and that you are not getting it because of all the "moany" English speakers in the country. Seriously, says who?

I wish you to make it to Switzerland if that is what you really want, but please, consider that a change of attitude might do wonders.

From a fellow Italian who has been a foreigner for most of her life, with no connections, English-speaking, US-loving, with very bad German skills (only temporarily, I hope!) and who occasionally likes to moan, in multiple languages - well, when I am not having a beer with the friendly English Forum members, that is
