Car damaged

Had my car shipped over from the US and it apparently arrived damaged (huge dent in hood) according to the receiver in Bremerhaven. I'll pick the car up this weekend and will get to see the damage myself. People in Germany claim the car arrived this way and was probably loaded onto the container wrong. I contacted the shipper in Florida and they have ignored me so far. This should be fun...

Re: Car damaged

Just got another email, now it went from a huge dent on the hood to two dents on the hood, dent on the roof and fender. I wonder what the next email will be, no engine, and the wheels gone?

Re: Car damaged

Car shipping companies are known for damaging cars in US. I had some bad experiences myself

Report them to BBB and they will respond. Most likely, they will act innocent.

Re: Car damaged

did you insure your shipment? If yes, stop worrying. If no, worry.

Re: Car damaged

Damn indeed and very annoying. I hope you insurance covers it.

I too have a story to tell, although the damage to my car was caused by the French border police. I had my car shipped to the UK and back (from Malta) on the back of a very dodgy looking old trailer. However, it would have been returned to me intact, had it not been for the fact that the border police tore it apart, including breaking into the glove box and CD changer, ripping out all the seats and damaging the hood mechanism. I was not happy and am still trying to get the cost of repairs (euros 650) back from the French police.

Re: Car damaged

Was it a big car?

Smaller cars tend to be shipped in 20ft shipping containers. The type of damage to yours suggests this wasn't done.
