Not to mention it's a rip-off of old PAN AM adverts and....since there's the new show in the US which is a follow-on to the popular Mad Men, http://www.hulu.com/watch/280286/pan...lot#s-p1-so-i0 , it's probably just another meme/fad we'll just have to learn to live with.

Fussy git.

I'd hit them all - as long as they kept each other "entertained" while they waited their turn

Why do women always have to serve food?
Actually, at most restaurants I normally frequent, the majority serving are men!

Re: A controversial (?) ad

Wouldn't they need to go back to the 70-s era look in order to differentiate the availability of different cuisines for purposes of the ad? No flight attendants this day and age are wearing uniforms that have a design based upon cultural traditions.

The high heels and long legs certainly don't hurt the attention-getting ability of the ad, either!

Sagitta, it is a truth universally acknowledge that...well, here's the thing, all the research about this sort of thing proves conclusively that even women prefer to look at women. Besides, men just cover up way so much more!

Oi oi oi, I beg to differ. I very much preffer to look at good looking men than good looking women any time.

That's why if I ever drank whisky, I'd buy the one that broke all teh publicity rules and used half/full nakid *groawl* kilted men instead of half naked women/chicks on red dresses.

Re: A controversial (?) ad

yeah, it's sexist, but in a world of extremes it is actually quite conservative, remember the Adidas bill-board ad for some sort of training shoe with the bird bending over looking at her own arse and smiling at you, as if to say, 'Want an arse like mine, then buy these trainers!' (ironically they are positioned near the prostitute areas of zurich).

I think that is a little more demeaning, and I actually think that it's aimed at women!

Re: A controversial (?) ad

Seriously, what exactly is controversial about the ad?

That there are females working on planes serving food while wearing an uniform?

The uniforms are actually a big part of the branding of an airline - as a customer do you see the ladies far more then the color scheme of the plane.

The "Singapore Girl" is for example more used in the Airlines advertisement than any of the shiny A380s:
