Not sure where the OP is from, but any person claiming to have been treated unfairly would have reported to authorities.

Find this interesting.....went there a week or so ago, bought a drink, ordered in English as I'm not confident with my German abilities or accent (i should try harder) but then didn't get served again. I put it down to looking young (I know it's a hard life) or the bar staff just having an off day????

No not at all. Which is why I didn't think anything of it until reading this. As in using my best getting served eye contact skills and actually going to order and being ignored.

It was probably nothing, I was a barmaid for years and sometimes you just miss people or don't like the look of them so try and avoid serving them, which is why I put it down to the age thing.

We're planning an 'youngsters' event there on Fri so will report back.

I would tend to agree with you my friend but then racial discrimination does not subscribe to logic.
To be honest, I cant think of a single instance where discrimination of any sort makes logical sense


having said that, I also find it hard to believe that in a country like Switzerland and Cosmopolitan city like Zurich, people would be able to get away with explicit discrimination as mentioned by the OP

(subtle under the cover situations exist every where in the world where you have more than one race)
