If we talk about Swiss people we're not being racists. We're being factual observers.
...... most racists have precisely that opinion of themselves .......

Nah. Further disagree. Everyone does have a right to an opinion (even your man in the pic) but nobody has a right to force it upon anyone else.

Too precise? I disagree.

Are you seriously claiming that Sarah's theory is true and that you wanted to make a parody on the Swiss bashing threads here?
Honestly: I didn't buy it for a second. Your descriptions of standard Asian behaviour were to precise, so it isn't something you copied from another context.
We all had some rants on here that wasn't perceived well - but you know: better stop posting on the thread or simply accepting that it wasn't that pc and saying sorry to the people you offended would be a decent reply. A less than believable "I only wanted to check your reactions, but you all don't get it" is, well,... not exactly showing off some soft skills.
Totally agree with your trev. OP I admired you more when you stood by your "clumpsy" stereotyping

Put another way, you can stop people raping babies and killing jews but you can't stop people having an opinion on it.

No logic necessary - just a fact of life.

Essentially, yes. We've not implemented thought control yet.

Or do we just want you to think that?

I'm not OK with any kind of vile behaviour like that, I'm just saying that you can't stop people having an opinion on it.

Is that so tough for you to understand?

My opinion is that we should have a 4 day weekend. It'll never happen but you can't stop me having my opinion.

'scuse me while I just find a brick wall to bang my head against...

Re: Asian tourists - rather "clumpsy" people?

so now, here is the endgame for you - and im glad you followed it through this far..

your argument is:
everyone has a right to an opinion as long as they dont express it or enforce it...

the point you seem to forget is:
what is the point of having an opinion in the first place if you cannot express it...

exactly.....

there is no point and therefore you really dont have the right to an opinion. because only when something is expressed does it become an opinion.

theres nothing socially unacceptable about a 4 day weekend so it is an opinion that may be expressed.

quite different from the hitler/nambla examples of ideas that should not be expressed.

not every idea is a good or valid one and not every opinion is a good or valid one.

Expressing an opinion is one thing. Forcing others to take on your opinion as their own is something totally different.

Anyone can express their opinion about anything they want (unless you live somewhere where they cart you off to an institution which will "correct" your opinion - thankfully not here in Switzerland).

Anyway, this has gone way way off topic so lets get back to how you load a shopping trolley onto a conveyer belt at the cash desk...

What if you are in some sort of catatonic state and you cannot do anything but still be able to process information and think?

an Opinion, is a normative analysis of something, which does not necessarily include any form of communication.

Think about the fact that you need to express an opinion... if the action was inherent to it, you wouldn't need to do it.

Ah, now it's clear - you are mixing up "insult" with "opinion".
