I've been called worse thing on EF, insults seem to be part of the local culture, it's all right (To the veterant who called be a knob: thanks, I learned that word on that day, I love you too).
But don't count on me to confirm the idiotic link glasses=dork. I am intellectual, far too much I admit that.
Ok, nerd is more accurate. Glasses are a cool thing, though when they replace my lenses I might not need them

Back to the OP, back to the OP..is there anything else to analyze, though? The talk we have had so far is pretty profound, plus the usual truths and disclaimers, etc.

Why? Here in Singapore are foreign tourists more than welcome. What the locals don't like are all those annoying foreign expats

- taking their jobs
- driving up the rents
- having expensive cars
- sending kids to international schools

...kind of reminds me of something....

I realized that I didn't know anything about Asian until I saw this thread. Only a couple stuffs used in my life come from Asian. I missed so much, did I? :P
You still don't know anything. Much "stuffs" in your life come from Asia. You'd be sitting half naked without a computer without Asia for starters...

First of all dont even bother with the racist-stuff, im certainly not racist, this is just me noticing a common behavour among our asian tourist friends.

- When they are to pay at coop the act like its the first time ever they use paper money. They look scared, they discuss with their wife and they find it unbelievable they will recieve CHF return for EUR.
- One guy needed to be told how to use his own credit card 3 times by the cashier.
- In fact, even adults act like they are on a different planet just while shopping at Coop - are asian stores really that different?
- The like to stop whereever they feel like, for example in a doorway oblivious to the fact that people are trying to pass.
- They have a limited field of vision, they simply refuse to note that people are trying to pass or whatever.
- Two girls simply put the whole cart (EDIT:Carrier thingy) on the belt at coop, ignoring the fact that everyone else took their stuff out of the cart. Its like they have never seen that system before.

Am i the only one who have noticed this? A friend of mine who used to live in Hongkong told me its even worse there, he sometimes needed to physically move locals out of his way on the sidewalk, literally almost lifting them up just to get past.
Asians from where?

Asia is bigger than Europe, with far more cultural and lingustic diversity.

Saying "Asian" is almost meaningless.

Would you say a "white" or "European" tourist and make the same general stereotypical remarks? Probably not.

Oh please! An Asian is an Asian...like how many cup noodle flavors do you get at your grocery store...it's either curry, beef or chicken. Tsk..complicating things all the time!

True, sometimes people just differentiate a topic to death. Asians are pretty much Asians, except those Indians, they are darker and don't have Asian eyes, so technically they are Africans.

Asians just are clumpsy, except the Japanese, they all used to be ninjas, so they aren't very clumpsy at all. Oh and those Kreons aren't clumpsy either, but that's because they are so small, they just can't.

Re: Asian tourists - rather "clumpsy" people?

WOW, if these tourists in coop had know this would be the end result(this asian bashing as couple of you already mentioned) of their behavior, they surely would have bought a guide book of "how not to annoy Europeans in super market".... can't believe what I'm reading....

Anyone seen Summerrain since? or has someone been round to scope her back??

Honestly, this is like the story we were told as a child:

A frog lives at the bottom of a well and the sky he can see is limited to the size of the top of the well. He told all and sundry that sky is nothing but that small patch. Until one day, someone stick their head over the edge of well and frog started his rant. The person at the top just told the frog, his observation of the sky is limited to being at the bottom of the well. The sky outside of the well is all the eye can see without edge.
