In general, I didn't think it was ok to complain about specific individuals at named companies here?
I never thought about that. If I knew how to, I would eidt the thread and remove the names, or delete the thread altogether.

And why not? Just as I can give good recommendations, I can share bad experiences. As long as I am honest about it and tell the full story, there is no problem.

We had our fair share of first time posters bashing companies (especially restaurants) that on a second look seemed to be their competition - we are on EF usually smart enough to figure out who is honestly complaining and who not.

The agencies are free to comment here and give their side of the pictures - this happened before as well and put some rants into "a lot of perspective".

As I do not see the OP to be a cleaner trying to get business - I don't think this thread is fishy at all.

On a side note - 43 CHF an hour is a lot, even for professionals. I used to pay 33 including all taxes AHV and what not. That was in 2010, so not some decade ago.

Just to make you jealous, we pay our French cleaning lady EU9.50 per hour. In France, of course. And no hassle with insurance, tax, etc.

Me? Jealous? I moved to a country where you can have a full-time live-in maid for 500 CHF a month...

Unless you prove your house wasn't cleaned in years.
That was my strategy.

Apparently rooms don't get any dustier or untidy after a certain time. That's a fact. I think I read it on the internet.

And it's all entropy anyway. There's no point fighting physics.

Aww, you must've moved to Asia! Makes me nostalgic about our life in India. My mom, who lives alone on a moderate pension, can afford the following "staff": cook who comes in the morning to make her breakfast and lunch, and again the evening to make her dinner. In the mid-morning, another lady comes in to clean the apartment. And once a week (oh the luxury) a masseuse comes to massage her arthritic limbs!

It is its own system and each side benefits from it. My mom of course does not have to do much work. And the ladies who come in to work for her are assured of a salary. Most employers will also provide meals, take care of the maids' children's education to some or even full extent, provide monetary support during illnesses, marriages, deaths in the maids' family, etc.

It was a question I was asking....I'm not sure what the position is. If somebody googles the name of this business and it pulls up this thread saying guy x did or didn't do something when he hasn't a chance to put his side, is that not legally sticky?

(I'm not sure why there is a difference between "I had bad service in Goodmans last week" and this though?)

Maybe somebody lawyerly can explain

Some of the financial advisor types that in fact help themselves more to get your money than you growing a pension have before successfully threatened the owners of this forum to delete some negative comments... unfortunately. So some of the best advice on this forum on cold calling scum got deleted.

Otherwise we had many cases where the services who felt treated unfairly instead set the picture straight by telling their side of the story. A business that responds to wrong claims in a professional manner in my eyes even wins in the end if somebody makes some rant on here first.

Look at the reputation Sixt has on EF now since their Customer Service Manager responded to a criticism on here.

(This thread shows the right way to deal with complaints on the internet.)

And if you're still googling for Sixt complaints; Hello Gary

Re: what am I doing wrong: putzfrau services

QUICK NOTE ABOUT POSITIVE INTERACTION WITH putzfrauenvermittlung.ch
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just so that I report the good with the bad, I had a call from Mr. Hurtado. He was polite and informed me that they have found a putzfrau for me and my first cleaning session will be on Friday, Nov 04. Both Mr. Hurtado and I will be present during this session so that we can discuss specifics of the task.

Thanks to every one who responded for the different perspectives! Now I look forward to a regularly clean home :-)
