So, coming out of the parking garage today, I managed to put a big scrape in the part around the wheel as I misjudged my turn after giving up my ticket. My gigantic US minivan didn't come out well and in the future I will never opt for the card machine that doesn't have a straight exit (if one is available, that is).

Then, to make matters worse, I went to our new house where we are scheduled to move in next week to find one of the workers smoking in my nice new kitchen/dining area. I knew people smoked in there when it was a bit more Rohbau, but the floors are in, the walls painted, kitchen installed; I would have thought people would have more respect for things that aren't theirs, but I guess I am wrong. I did ask him kindly to not smoke inside anymore, and I swear he and his colleague had a giggle about it. And these are mature people - by that I mean 45 -55 in age.

So now I am in a crummy mood. Bah. Please don't yell at me if this is in the wrong place and no, I didn't do a search first

I used to think I was/am a pretty dang good driver, you know, for a girl and all. Now I am not so sure. I need rear-,side- and front headlight view cameras!

Don't get mad, get even. I'm a smoker and if I ever caught a contractor smoking on the inside of my house, and they laughed at me after my asking them not to, they'd be missing a nutsack and maybe a pack of smokes, too. Call the boss, and calmly inform him/her that if you catch them smoking in your FRESHLY painted home again that you'll insist on them re-painting at their expense. If you need me to come over and go medieval for you, I'm in a mood where I'll be happy to oblige and leave you the nuts in a jar for your amusement in exchange for a bottle or two of my fave cheap swiss wine. (btw, I'm "mature"....)

a friend witnessed a car hit a kid on a pedestrian crossing today. Kid made it to hospital and I'm guessing will be OK but in a lot of pain.

Yeah, mature was a silly choice of words, I was just trying to say that they weren't teenagers and I expect a little more respect from them. Today should be the last day of work as we are due to move in, but I will keep in mind them doing the painting. I will keep you in mind next time I need back-up! And I will mention it to his boss...

That is horrible, I can't imagine that - both witnessing and causing the accident. That would be much harder to get over.

I do long for owning a nice little VW Golf on days like this But then when it comes to ski holidays with hubby and 3 kids, we sure can use the space!
