I am finding myself annoyed at you, and I am not even a Swiss lady!

The "burdens" you are carrying around Europe are affecting you in more ways than you realize if you think that people are not going to be angry when you extrapolate the results from a sample size of two over the entirety of Swiss women!
Why do you dare to say that my work & life experience is a burden without knowing the details. You sound like a racist

Ayit, I will play the devil's advocate, for one thing, having lived some wild moments all over and having really developped allergy to those who wore the badge on their punk coats and were so darn self righteous..a bit of sympathy to fellow Eastern European, yady yady.

But, Argent, making ugly sexist stereotypes coz some stuff might have sounded clumsy or just got misinterpreted..wait to be here longer, you will grow thicker skin and actually appreciate the directness. It might be the fact you don't straight away know how to retort back, I find it fun. With time you will get more direct yourself and pretty elaborate, I laugh a lot when things sound weird and awkward. Or, just simply say "whaaaa, I just got here and you want me out already?"

Slavs are known to love their heimats...don't you?
Polish are not Eastern Europeans, we are Central Europeans, as Czech, Slovakian, Hungarian.

Exciting, innit...

I don't think we have a troll, though, just somebody who is angry and hurt and does not understand we poke since she is doing something she just criticized somebody else for.

Anyways, no need to get over excited.

@Sandgrounder,

I lived in the UK before my relocation to Switzerland and I know how your country functions: this is a civilized country, with a flexible fiscal system (comparing to Poland): many Polish people have established their companies there.
I don't think that somebody just has to return to their own country, they are entitled to live where they want. Mostly abroad I have had office job, but 6 months ago I lived in France like a nomad while hitchhiking and sometimes sleeping in the mountains. I am prefer to carry all burdens abroad rather to go back to Poland. I would be able to repeat my French experience again, I am not a conformist. That annoys Swiss ladies, who think that woman's life shoud be 9-17/marriage/mortgage, not to be a wanderer.
(Inserting quote again for your benefit. I added bold.)

So you see, you referred to the "burden" to begin with. As far as I knew, you were talking about the backpack you carried while hitchhiking in France.

Alas, I guess I am a racist. Toward backpackers. They are always sooo insecure and backstabbing, you know......

Actually, as a 7 year old kid drawing maps on transparent paper, I had some problems with the concept of Eastern Europe...

Since there was an Eastern Germany at the time, I pretty much thought all countries more east than France were eastern...

That's why I had some problems to actually believe the geographical center of Europe is inside Poland/Ukrain/Hungaria/Lithuania a couple of years later...

P.S.: In my defence, there really is only 1 European country more west than my own...

Heh, who cares for semantics, that's for sure. We have been Eastern Europeans for the rest of the world for eons, no matter what some geography textbooks are saying (correctly, by the way).

We all like a good sausage.

OP, there is nothing offensive about being from our homes. You might feel offended about people assuming you will have to/want to come back when now you feel like your home is not worth it, or whatever. That's your own personal thing.

It's like the my bf-was-attacked-for-being-homo thread..You put girl's clothes on, you get a reaction. You say to folks you were a woolf child for a while, people panic. For some it's a shocker, some don't wink an eye. But expecting a completely normal reaction, at all times, from everybody, is a tad...naieve. I don't tell people about my life, just blab here at times, for exactly the same reason. It does not mean people here are close minded rednecks, but just the fact your life might have been a tad different than the expectations people have here and cultural norms. Nothing less, nothing more. To project, is actually only hurting you and possible bonds you might have chances to develop here.

Except it's not asking for "Place of Birth", "Place of Residence" or a list of your ID docs. It's asking for "Nationality".
