I had a similar problem with ID. Created a real scene in the shop. Raised voices , threatened a sit-in etc etc
They gave in and gave me a new boxed VCR
You need to kick up a major stink at the cash desk. Don´t give up.

Alternatively save yourself the stress of having to kick up a stink, and talk directly with the manufacturers/importers themselves.
Any time I've ever needed anything fixed here, it's been a far faster and better experience to do this. Generally speaking returning something to a shop for repair will take 3-4 weeks. Returning direct to the manufacturer's service representative will IME take 3-4 days.
And OP, as the others have said get your mac to an Apple store. The repair should only take a couple of days at most, or given that you've only had the machine for 2 weeks the Apple store may well be sympathetic and replace it there and then.
In any event, I've found it's generally a waste of time trying to deal with retailers here once they've got your money.

Welcome to the land of what can be really crappy service. Why go through the angst of Interdiscount. If you're out with the auto exchange period, or any other loophole they can crawl through to help you, you are wasting your time and just raising your blood pressure sadly .
You can try the Apple store (don't bother with Data Quest), but as they have limited time/space at the store and depending on the fault they may need to send it to the Apple service centre about 30 mins from you in Dintikon, so you'll have lugged the beast through to Zurich for nothing. My 27 iMac (bought from Apple directly) fell over after 3 weeks and it's what I was recommended to do by Applecare as they couldn't' resurrect mine. I would go back to the Applecare helpline, get a docket number and let them take care of it, and relax. They send a courier to collect it from your home and drop it back fully operational again, or you can take it in and collect it yourself, Apple store is drop/collect only I think. My machine was collected on Monday afternoon (about 4 hours or so after the call was logged iirc) and was ready on Thursday morning with a new HDD, the old drive fully backed up, all software re-installed & updates done etc etc. I was given the option to collect that day or have it via courier on Friday, an excellent service.

If I were you, I'd go there and don't move until I speak to the manager. Raise your voice if needed. I've had bad customer service experiences at Media Markt. I wouldn't worry much about the iMac, you are well covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Just don't let the people from interdiscount have it!

Unless you are advocating causing a ruckass and taking longer rather than getting the machine fixed expediently?
Just cut out the middle man and let Apple take care of it, and leave the nose on you face in this case

I purchased my original iPhone 3G from Swisscom, after about 3 months or so, the wireless functionality went AWOL and I could only use 3G.
Took it to the Apple store in Glattzentrum (instead of Swisscom where I bought it). They took a look at it for about 2 minutes and decided to replace it with a brand-new one. I had to return the next day to pick it up and they even transferred all of my settings to the new one !
First class ! And this was despite the fact that I had purchased it at Swisscom.
I'm not sure what Swisscom would have done.
Otherwise, my experience here with Cablecom, Audi, STEG, Honda garage, Post Office, Strassenverkehrsamt, has been actually very good over the years as regards broken items, customer service and queries. Even purchasing spare components for my ancient WM-D6C Walkman Professional from a strictly-trade-only supplier (tobler.ch, I think) was excellent (replacement components arrived within a day, complete with a little complimentary packet of jelly babies for me to enjoy during soldering activities.. )
So, not all bad news from my limited experiences.
Cheers,
Chris

I bought a thinkpad notebook at the beginning of this year from digitech. The screen defected just in one week, still they refused to change to a new one.
The thinkpad hotline is notorious, as many of you may know.
