Erm, no it wouldn't be.

if you are going that way... could we just have "washed" and "unwashed" sections ?
It would make the crowded seat situation so much more tolerable ( for some of us )
Now, would I count as "washed" or "unwashed" if I'd had my last shower two days ago, but it had rained heavily on me that day? How about if I'd had a shower that morning, but run for three separate trams in the previous half-hour?

there is no room for judgements on a crowded bus... if there is any question... you go to the smelly section.

there will be a substantial on the spot fine for those found in the clean section with out proper deodorant

Re: narrow bus seats

Bus seats have always been a bit tight - after all bus journeys tend to be short - and buses are seldom full outside of peak times. If you want more shoulder space then stand - just not where the pushchairs are meant to go

And before you ask - I also suffer from "fat shoulder syndrome"

You must never have been the 180cm+ guy on a small, Asian airliner. Shoulder room is one thing... but it's worse when even the lumbar support is out of place.

Funny you should say that. I know for a fact that they factored in more seats, possibly also with lower slumber support, but definitely with slightly less leg room, on the A380s for the Asian market. (I used to work for Rolls-Royce)

Well, excuse us manly types for being fed up having to go across the bus sideways....only to be seated in a Lego seat made for midgets.

Would it kill bus companies, to order/put in larger seats into their vehicles, so that I don't have to sit on anybody's lap?! When I sit in a bus seat, my shoulder cover at least a third of the adjacent seat...which is alright if nobody sits there. However, it gets quite uncomfortable, when somebody sits next to me as I end up doing the awkward shoulder shurg or end up invading the other passenger's space. Does anybody else have similar issues?
maybe it would be better instead of leaving seats un-separated, they could have a full length partition so that people have to put themselves inside a cubicle and any "broad shouldered" people can't invade the space of a neighbouring seat.

maybe also some circular saw device to chop off the legs of anyone who likes to stretch them onto the opposite seat.

Re: narrow bus seats

Having broad shoulders and long legs, I get a double whammy

Then again, you should see the look of horror on people's faces when they see me approaching the bursting-to-capacity bus

But that's because I'm an English person.
