I've also seen some women who struggle to walk very far in the later stages of pregnancy. Waddling for a short distance is the best they can do.

Personally I sometimes offer to help a woman carrying heavy bags, more so if she's pregnant!

I miss flirting with 16 year old teenage boys who are bagging my intimate purchases. Geez... where else is a girl supposed to get her kicks from nowadays? Certainly not from the Migros cashiers. They are all emotionless.

Have I got this right? Americans can go round the world trampling over cultures and demanding again and again "we can't you do things properly - like we do back home?" and if anyone questions this we have a "problem"?

I have spent months in the USA over the years and have number of good friends who are Americans, but this does not stop me defending both Switzerland and the UK from the American road roller when it's coming down our streets...

They had baggers at Marktkauf across the border in Germany a couple of weeks ago.

In Florida many of the "bag boys" are retirees. Not that some of them aren't dreamy (some really are), but maybe alters the daydream a bit.

This really has F^%$ all to do with Swiss supermarkets but please don't be blind to America's faults in your quest to rubbish all that is Swiss. America could really do with going 'backwards' - probably about 12 years - before a fraudulent manipulation of the democratic system, before the Patriot Act, the right to detain citizens without trial and gross state infringement of civil liberties, before an aggressive foreign policy, before a parabolic explosion in the national debt and money supply.

Don't get me wrong - I love America, have worked there, have great friends there, chose to get married there and still enjoy visiting every year. But please open your heart to the fact that the place just is not perfect.

The amount of time and energy you invest in trying to convice other people not to like it here is truly staggering.

Who said the place is perfect? Most folks I know who think it is perfect are STILL THERE.
