In my very long life I have tasted 3 coffees at Starbucks. Singapore, London, Easyjet, and 1 chocolate at London. All of them were for me memorable and for all the wrong reasons.

Now recently I read that next year the SBB / CFF are changing form Lavazza to Starbucks. I am really annoyed at this move, for my taste Lavazza is an excellent coffee, and Starbucks is the worst. People have different tastes, but to change from a European coffee to an American one is madness.

Re: Starbucks Coffee

I have joined the darkside of coffee snobbery. I now have a coffee grinder and an espresso machine that costs way more than I ever thought a coffee machine should cost. I just won a vintage lever machine on eBay.it, I now buy beans with a roast date and not a "use before" date. This whole process took a few years and having a few friends that have such machines at home did not help. It's like drinking fine wine, it's impossible to go back to plonk afterwards.

Starting to sell booze and more food apparently, and intend to widen sales of such to worldwide.

They are doing fantastically well in China, where McDonalds are closing stores, fantastic growth business.
(IKEA by the way is a charity & pays no tax.....)

Odile does not like big corporations that minimise their tax payments.
I wonder what's her view on Migros

I have often been in Starbucks outlets, buying coffee to drink there or packaged coffee to take home, but was never asked for my name

Their coffee is excellent. This is what matters

I wonder what's her view on Migros
Migros is NOT a corporation but a union of CO-OPERATIVES owned by customers who are co-operative members, who vote about basic decisions

I for example inherited my co-operative share of Migros Zürich from Mum who had bought it shortly after I was born in October 1950. Even if the "service" of Migros in our region of Zürich was up to six visits per week by such trucks
https://www.google.ch/search?q=migro...ml%3B404%3B304

The AG on the trucks of course disappeared long before when Duttweiler made the former AG into a customers owned cooperative. THIS was the NEW version

In HB zürich Starbucks they ask for the name to identify one when its busy. Guess its that personal touch. Du's are more friendly

Is it because they always write it incorrectly?

I particularly like that they spelled "Ingrid" as "Angry".

I don't think the website is Swiss or talking about Starbucks in Switzerland, though.
