Galaxus / Digitec

Order a home appliance from Galaxus, which is a subsidiary of Digitec (so I was confident of good service), paid into their bank account in advance, and having been informed that the goods will be shipped in the next 2-3 days.
Now, it is 3 weeks, and keep getting emails delaying the expected shipping date, not they have delayed by another 2 weeks!

Why let people order goods if you dont have it in your inventory!!! :mad:

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

I ordered twice from Swisspost online shop ( website said items were in stock ). Both never arrived even after waiting for a month on each instance.

Had I not reached them ( difficult to find the exact contact email for this onlineshop ), I would have never known that they decided not to proceed with the order. Their online shop falsely stated that the items were "delivered" and order was closed / settled. The staff at the local Bhf ( PickPost ) smile each time I attempt to pick up goods that were never delivered to them in the first place.

Strange thing was the items still appeared as available till todate.

They probably didn't know in the first place that the items weren't there. Or they have a JIT strategy. The Japanese started all the JIT (just in time) business. Probably to reduce the amount of spares lying around?

More likely someone has made a mistake and is trying to cover it up and doesn't care if they make one customer angry. You know how it is..."the strength of a bureaucracy is measured by it's inability to deal with individuals." :msnmad:

That's another topic in itself. How to find contact details. There must be strategies etc on how to best hide contact details in web sites. Probably done in conjunction with a lawyer who knows how far to push the rules.:silly: Sometimes the only way I have managed to find contact details is to look in a forum and find out from someone else.

I had the same problem with Galaxus. Website said the ironing board is on stock (highest availability, i.e. in excess of 10 pcs) but it didn't get delivered for some 2 months or so...

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Now I'm worried and will actively bug them to know if they plan to deliver or at least return my money! :msnmad:

Moneyhouse.ch lists the legal addresses of all companies registered in Switzerland. It also lists the person in the management and who has the legal power to sign contracts.

If you are really desperate send a personal, registered letter to one or more persons in charge (preferably with individual signature) to the listed company address.

unfortunately the Post option "Eigenhändig" / "Personal delivery" / "Distribution personnelle" does not work with business addresses

Bought a toothbrush off Galuxus about three weeks ago. Supposed to be 6 days or so to delivery. Day 5 got an e-mail saying it waould take longer. Day 6 got an e-mail that it had been sent out; toothbrush arrived day 6 or 7 IIRC.

As of 1 April 2012, amendments to the Unfair Competition Act will come into effect which will require an online shop to:
1) clearly and completely indicate its identity and contact address (including electronic mail);
2) indicate the different technical steps that must be followed in order to conclude the contract;
3) make available appropriate means for identifying and correcting input errors prior to the placing of an order; and
4) acknowledge receipt of the customer’s order immediately by electronic means.

I have written a strongly worded email for now.
Let's see.

Tsk, tsk, I did not expect this from a Digitec subsidiary.

They wrote me a reply saying they still do not know the delivery date, so they are refunding the amount. Bloody waste of time!

I guess it's their business model, having a large selection of articles but keeping very little stock. If only they were transparent enough with their delivery times I could accept it...

I think someone rated digitec and galaxus like this:

digitec: ++
galaxus: --

Pickup is still the best option - if they don't deliver, you don't pay and they get no money.

Same experience with Galaxus versus Digitec. Digitec is fast and reliable, Galaxus does not actually seem to have in stock what they say, but have to order it themselves from someone's warehouse and then ship it to you. In the meantime they have lost a customer...

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

Also had no problems with Digitec. But as someone said above the best option is to pick them up.

I hate it when companies do this. Good luck with sorting it out. I have placed two orders with Galaxus but haven't experienced any problems, both items were lego toy and delivered on time.

My iron came on time and in good form, my problem was the post office. they left a slip saying it was at the post to pick up, I went and the iron box was visible from were I was standing. they kept telling it was not there. finally I had to speak really loudly refuse to give up my place in line and tell them to show me the address on the iron box I could see. It was mine. It was really weird,...did they want to keep it...? I am afraid to order and go through this again.

Ordered the same item from powerCH GmbH online, was 10% more expensive but arrived within the week!

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

Based on our recent experience, my advice is as follows. Contact them by email/phone and confirm the item is in stock. Pay and pick it up at the warehouse.

They do have cheaper prices on many items so this ensures no waiting weeks on end for delivery. In our case, they moved the item from one warehouse to another, which took less than a day. We got an email confirming it was there and my husband paid for it and picked it up the next morning. =)
