excuse for making noise

Here is an interesting excuse from somebody to whom we complained that they where making too much noise after 10:00pm:

"If our children turn up the volume while playing video games we just start to talk louder"

The person who gave this reply is a manager of around 40-50 people at a local energy company. So he manages a sizable group of people but can not control his children (who are not even 10 years old)? I guess he aptly demonstrated he does not take his work home: managing you do at work and at home my children manage me

Re: excuse for making noise

I'd move if I were you - it can only become worse as the children get older!

To be fair I'd manage the 40-50 people over one small one Any Day!! :P

Re: excuse for making noise

I have similar problems with my neighbours. It´s funny that everyone says it´s a rule that loud noises are not allowed at night, but the rule is not always applied. There´s simply little one can do with such people... They just don´t reason. They say whatever they think is right. Given that apartments are hard to find in Switzerland, noisy neighbours are all the more annoying.

Nuclear? Like glow-in-the-dark? Be scared, very scared if you get hugged or have your hand shaken vigorously.

What was your reply and next action? Are you going to put up, or they shut up?

Re: excuse for making noise

Buy yourself a Guitar amp and plug your mp3's through it to play heavy rock music on volume 11 whenever their 'little darlings' make a noise...

I reckon they will give up before you do...
