Re: Burglary

I was "done" in a similar way in 2000 through the window. My neighbours were done too that week, and others in the street too.

Movement activated webcams are inexpensive these days and can link to your mobile phone.

Oh. Good idea. And it would serve a dual purpose as I could "catch" our resident hedgehog.

We have been robbed twice since we moved to our apartment in Zurichberg (isn't Zurichberg supposed to be a good area?)...I have a feeling it's the son of one of our neighbors who is breaking in, but of course I can not prove it.
Now, he is with some other woman and he does not even live in this apartment, but he pays the rent of about CHF16,000/month.
...
Did anyone told you that spreading people's live on a forum is bad?

He has to pay 16 000chf/months of rent ??? And you live in the same area so I suppose it's similar for you? You can't even buy monitoring equipment or a detective or private security or alarm or whatever similar?

Or make a trap!

You have no evidence to suggest that person is the thief and yet you spread babbles about his life... Get your facts rights, take evidence, or don't accuse someone for "weirdness".

Finally, if the kid has damaged a car with cigarets , then it's your responsibility to deal with that when it happens, instead of "keeping it" and spreading that later on.

well, good luck anyway, you have enough clues to catch the thief now (might even be a woman, who knows?).

I would have kicked you out as well. Without proof you can't go accusing people.

How is nationality of the lady (Brazilian) relevant? A man is free to have a relationship with anyone he wants. Unless you were indirectly/directly suggesting that Brazilian = greater chance of being a thief?

I am sorry that you are going through this nightmare and in the end your suspicions might turn out to be 100% accurate but go easy on that trigger.

Judge your neighbours based on what you observe yourself and not on hearsay. I have been at the receiving end of some shitty attitude based on assumptions and cooked up stories.
Thanks for that comment!
Totally agree

We have that in our flat! We get a bunch of emails everytime the camera detects movement but having a bunch of emails to delete is nothing when you think that if something happens you will get it on camera

Re: Burglary

Our nightmare of a neighbour got burgled in February, broad day light, with witnesses. They smashed their way through his French windows! We live in the middle of the countryside and what was weird is that his part of the house was almost empty (bar one brand new giant flat screen tv he'd only got a week prior to the burglary) due to him selling all his furniture to buy drugs and alcohol, whereas we had a computer and laptop at the time (we know take them with us to work!). The burglars (3 of them) then proceeded calmly out and drove off. The police did not catch them but seemed to imply it was the work of an Albanian gang who was "owed" some money...
