If you want to talk about it in more detail PM me.
You might want to ask for permission from his parents first before you engage him!

He's a bloody minor! In fact how can he even be allowed to have an account on here? Surely there should be some restrictions on people's age!

I believe he wants to engage himself ?

I will speak to his parents if he rises to the challenge...

EF is a forum where one comes to gain information, even teenagers don't know EVERYTHING.

The "thanks" are for suggesting to obtain parental permission before engaging, so far as age on the forum, I don't think there are any age requirements here.

Meanwhile, having some background in using internet forums along side minors, from the OP's standpoint, I'd be VERY hesitant getting involved with someone who reveals so little about themselves (hidden profile, hello!) but has multiple threads started which involve hiring or partnering for money in some way.

Not to say Onei is a bad guy, I don't know that one way or the other, but then, that's the point, isn't it?

So far as OP's issue goes though, I'd echo some of the suggestions of others. Create a blog (there are plenty of free sites available for that) with your commentary on the subjects you wish to review. Uploading videos to youtube and sharing them on the blog will help generate interest and show a "marketability" which means money coming in for you.

I'd also suggest working on your German (this is a drawback for kids going to international schools I think - it makes it tougher for them if THEY wish to stay - or return - even when the family moves on) AND get in touch with some of the German PC / Gamer magazines. Print media may be spiraling down but my hubby buys BUFFED magazine religiously, and holds onto them to refer back to if / when (let's face it, it really is more like "when") he picks up an old game again for a few hours or a few days.

Re: Why is there no english magazines/newspapers! Money Making/No webdesigners.

I write for an literary magazine and my colleague writes for a gaming magazine, both in English. Both of us started while living in Switzerland. It's the writing that counts, not the location.

Why not try gaining some experience by writing for a magazine on similar themes to your interest. Here's one - http://www.gamepeople.co.uk/

I didn't know my profile was hidden, I checked control panel, maybe you could help me find a way to unhide it?

No you don't know me, the point is he will get to know me if he wishes, along with his parents, there is nothing wrong with business, the fact that I use this forum sometimes along with many other places has no bearing as to my character, I do own an I.T company after all and spend most of my working day online, it feels quite natural to me to optimise every opportunity, although in this instance I think that I could probably have demanded more than 15% because I will probably find I may have to put more input into his project to make it a success than I first thought, but that goes with the territory !

It is under Control Panel, you maybe have it set to friends or contacts only (mine is set to "registered users" - even I'm not so silly as to set it to be viewable by everyone )

Seriously?! You have never been idealistic and dreamed of changing the world but only thought about money? When I was 15 was "paying the bills" the least I worried about since this was what parents were good for...

When I was 15, I wanted to become a journalist too! I ran my highschools' paper and dreamed of becoming a big guy one day! The dream went on till I was about 18. Then my mum managed to get me through the weirdest chain of personal connections an unpaid summer internship at a TV station, the ZDF. There I could see that some of the most well respected journalists in my country had a hard time to make ends meet. I am a bit older and since then the Internet got big. By now there are even less paid jobs in media as magazine sales have dropped dramatically.
Although you do have top notch journalists like Peter Scholl Latour and Ulrich Wickert, who besides doubtlessly having well payed day jobs, must make quite a bit on the side with their books, talking tours etc. There aren't many people like that and so the competition is tough, but I wouldn't call that a reason to destroy somebody's dream. But then I must add that these guys are much more than writers but have a deep understanding of politics, history etc.

Re: Why is there no english magazines/newspapers! Money Making/No webdesigners.

I have a coder ready to work my project of my video game website. Although I just need to earn for 3000 CHF. I have done a lot of journalism research, and I enjoy writing about video games. My main goals are to do school work, read upon video games and research them, and also work a few jobs in order to reach this amount of money by the beginning of january.

With my video game website, I am planning to have a sponsorship by a video game company. The idea is unique for this video game website. I can predict a great future for the website due to the idea and effort I have put into planning it.

Thank you Onei. You were one of the supportive people. You even offered me your domain which was very generous. I am excited to get the website up and running in early january. It will be an experience, and who knows, I might get sponsored by a large video game company.

This is exactly my point, and the two quoted writers were presenting as an argument the exact same point of view, that we all share.
Reading is a difficult skill, the lad in question is however definitely far from being the worse at it.

My mother tounge is Russian, and I only began to learn English at the age of 6. I am now 15, and I have lost my accent. Luckily I am not emerging in writing. Sometimes I might have a spelling error, and also when I write quick, I don't revise my writting.

Where did you find your programmer? How do you know he can deliver? Do you have an adult making contracts on your behalf? What steps are you taking to protect your proposed 3000CHF investment?
