Anybody know what Luke, Yoda, Jabba and Han will sound like now that they're all speaking Mickey?

Disney to Acquire Lucasfilm Ltd, Including Star Wars Franchise

  • Luke --> Goofy (both are immature)
  • Jabba --> Black Pete (big, fat, lazy asses)
  • Han --> That's mickey. Imagine Mickey flying the Millennium Falcon?
  • Jar Jar --> Donald (we wouldn't understand him either way)
Yoda's voice cannot be replaced. It's a sin against the Gods. Period.-

Chewbacca --> Pluto? Doesn't quite fit, though?

Sounds legit, although Chewbacca is 5x times larger as Pluto.
Well, guess the directors will tell us that Chewbacca went on a strict diet.

And then, who plays Greedo? I think Disney characters are "too cute" to get fried in a seedy bar on the Outer Rim. Do you think Disney'll up and buy the rights for the Billag Man?

This seems like such an ODD pairing. Has Lucas simply lost his mind?:msncrazy:

Lucas sold out like Peter Jackson, tragic...but these are the times we live in it seems...Artistic integrity be damned

At the very least, the next set of future films can't be worse than the Jar Jar binks abomination Lucas dealt out recently - so it can only get better

But the real genius of the original trilogy was the story, the characters added depth - now it's just about Darth Vader

But Disney?...I am not optimistic

I'm just very concerned that this will spawn a never-ending stream of SW-themed movies that slowly turn an amazing concept into a b-movie hash, ala the umpteen Freddy/Jason sequels in the horror genre.

All rumour and conjecture, but saw Joss Wheedon linked with Episode VII this morning. That would definitely be cool. It's such a big universe to play with, it the right hands there could be some awsome films...

I wait to see the new movies as it should be outside the extended world the fans know (books and games).

I'm a fan of Star Wars and ,well, I was a bit surprised by this announcement (is that the word ?), but well, Disney has become bigger these last years and if I've got my (good) Jedi and Sith wars fix with amazing movies, I'll more than happy. (but please, no Jar Jar...)

Now, I'll keep Vader as my Hero....

How long does his kind live? Maybe by Ep 7, Jar Jar has passed peacefully into
Gungan heaven, or something like that.

That would be very, very cool. Hope this is more truth than rumor!

Well, it was more about characters like Jar Jar, which brought nothing good to the story. I have to admit that the first episode was perhaps more for the kids with this Jar Jar. (and also for testing new technology ?)

I think Lucas was struggling for a comic foil and whipped up Jar Jar in an act of desperation. If he had done away with the corny accent, kept in the bumbling clumsiness, but made the character actually mature and complex, it wouldn't have been such a mess...

Where will the next episode start? Does it come after Return of the Jedi?

Wouldn't this automatically mean no Jar Jar?

Just got to figure out who the villain is going to be.

Ideally they'd go for the Thrawn trilogy - but that would mean to get alternative actors for the cast of Episodes IV-VI..

The only positive outcome of these news (for me) would be a Blue Ray version of the originals, who cares about outdated special effects...

Apparently episode 7 will follow Luke, Han and Leia, however in a different story line from those previously published in short story/novels/comic books.

I am a bit concerned that they will lame out the true 'cowboy' feeling of the movie for family-fun-happy endings.

Example, as discussed earlier in this thread, de-scoundrelling Han from the 'shoot' first scene. Disney has bastardized many historical icons, stories and history in order to sell happy movies---which are then accepted as the truth, it would be sad to see the same happen to the original 3. (Yes, we've already dealt with Jar Jar and those bastardized films).

I remember to have read when I was younger that Lucas wrote a whole story, and decided to film the middle of the story : our Star Wars.

I always though it was a legend until he does the first story.

Now I just read (on a french site) a mention of an interview of mark Hamill where he said Lucas told them, sometimes ago, that there would have three new episodes.
