Wary of Scams in Job posting section

Just a heads up yall, and double check any employment offers here or otherwise. Seems like there are a lot of scammers hoping to catch expatriates here in check frauds, and the like.

Seems to be for the permanent type positions, not the one-offs. Just reported a poster here, Bobs, recruiting for executive positions for tntlinks.

He sends you an email like this one:

http://www.ripoffreport.com/tnt-link...ario-22d21.htm

http://www.ripoffreport.com/tnt-link...nada-1c9c3.htm

Just remember if it is too good to be true, even in a community like this, it is. He's not the first, just getting slightly irritated about them. I worry for other folks who aren't as paranoid as me

What makes you think we would be dragged in to a scheme that is so obviously a fraud ?

You'd be surprised how naive some people are, and I, for one, appreciate the heads-up to warn others.

Not that I'm looking, of course.

Re: Wary of Scams in Job posting section

I've complained a few times about recruitment agents advertising for free in the jobs offered section - where if they place someone as a result, then they get signficant financial reward. Watch out for them as well - it's not unknown for it to be a CV gathering exercise, with no real jobs behind them.

Re: Wary of Scams in Job posting section

His emails have upgraded from those posts. If it is allowed I could always post the one he sent me. He has a website, supposedly he will call you from a Canadian number. It seems odd, but when you have been looking for a job for a long time it isn't all that uncommon to start wanting to believe, and not realizing just because it sounds professional, that it isn't. Well, maybe a professional scam that is.

And then not everyone's first language is English here. Things can be misread. Heck, I am from the states, and liable to misread things. It's just a heads up.
