Are you a mod now?

If people post something - why can't I post a reply?

There are plenty of other threads if you are bored.

60/40 is a pretty close match. Not all non-smokers were allowed the chance to vote.
It's called a clear victory, or loss depending on your position. Yes or No shares above 60% are rare.

In fact the overall 66% No is among the clearest results ever.

No, that can't matter otherwise homeopathic treatment would never have got included in insurance-based healthcare costs.
Homeopathic treatment is just as valid as your second hand smoke is dangerous arguments as the basis is the same for both.

Say it doesn't then instead of posting mildly racist posts about Indian cooking.
Actually, many years ago I knew a US couple who got kicked out of their apartment in Zurich because they used too much garlic.

You must be new here.

There a loads of threads about Swiss complaining about Asian cooking smells and Indians being banned from renting because of it.

Perhaps racism to strong a word for your PC ears. How about "discrimination."?
Lol, you made that up to make poor donpiedro feel sorry that he asked...

Who's deciding for children who have to put up with passive smoke?

I didn't say second-hand smoke was dangerous (in the context I was describing) but it is unpleasant -especially from a chain-smoking close neighbour).

Homeopathic treatment either costs money and doesn't work - or it costs money and doesn't work and treatment has to be repeated with conventional medicines, or it doesn't work as the patient wasn't ill anyway.

Either way, your health insurance premiums have gone up and this waste of money is one of the reasons.

So you can be kicked out because smells from your cooking disturb neighbours but not because of the smell of their cigarettes?

I'd call that double-standards but then I don't know how things work here.

Pointless to discuss with a person who drags the word "racism" into a discussion over the smell of food/cigarettes.

People overusing the word "racism" or "racist" results in it being robbed of all its power and significance.

And I'm long enough on the forum to realize that discussing with Tom1234 leads to nowhere and he always wants to have the last word after all.

What for? It takes negligible effort to cast the vote, and I'm not even sure I did that time.

I'm so sorry I robbed a word of it's power.
I thought my posts were pretty harmless and people took them with a pinch of salt but now I discover they have word-robbing power.

I'm quite enjoying myself in this mindless banter but it seems other people are getting quite worked up about all of this. Perhaps they ought to chill out and have a cigarette?

I guess the word "victory" means different things to different people from different countries.

Who's the victor(s)? Is someone who's not sure he even voted likely to be among them?

Really Tom, seeing you call others puerile is nothing short of hilarious.

Smoking threads are endurance sports on EF. The bad news for smokers is that they are statistically more likely to die sooner - and so Tom(1234) will eventually outlive you and win.
