Issues with the ex landlord

I have recently moved out of my flat. I guess my landlord was kind of pissed that I left the apartment earlier than expected. still informed him timely and helped as much as for him to find a new tentant. I had to come back from my holidays to show the apartment for the new tentant etc.
Did not also complain much when the fridge was not working at all. It was all water, and was not cooling down anything. It took 3 weeks for the repair man to make it kind of working!

Now I left the apartment. during the key handover, we checked the flat together. He found some painting to be done, but he said they are small things probably during move happened. and I did not object for small things. And the kitchen was not in very good condition, but I already told him that I had to reschedule my move on the last minute as I had a business trip popping up. I kindly agreed to pay whatver it takes to get cleaned.

Now he dumps me an email raising his very much dissapointment with the situation of kitchen. What is the point? I said I will pay it. and what he wants from me more?

Also he mentioned the painter costed 450 CHF, as he had to repair the holes. I did not put any holes to wall!!! We checked the flat together during handover, and he did not also see any holes! Now I get a bill that says there were a lot of holes to be repaired. This is a total lie!

I am very very angry. I dont know what he is trying to do. I hope he is not doing all these just to get a little bit more of the deposit money. This is really dissapointing me, I loose my trust to Swiss people.

Grrrr, I am really angry

Re: Issues with the ex landlord

You should have the carbon copy of the apartment hand over protocoll, signed by both of you.

Join the tenants asscociation and take the protocoll and copies of the e-mails to them and ask their advice.

Re: Issues with the ex landlord

I have the copy of the handover protocol when i entered. But i did not get the one when I handed over the key! We checked the apartment together, and I gave the keys and we agreed to have the kitchen cleaning ( 3-4 hours ) , and some walls to be repaired ( small things - no holes! ). But i did not get it written down. I wish i did, really.
I told the landlord that I want to know the exact places of the ``holes`` painted. I guess he was not expecting me to object, and he said may be there is a misunderstanding and he will check again with the painter!

He said the tube was blocked and the water flooded to kitchen. I cannot really believe this happened. I used all before the day i left the home, and i did not have any problem.

I will request all the bills, and call the company and ask to neighbor if this really happened!

This is crazy
