Ikea express delivery and return policy

Hi, Last week I had purchased some furnitures from Ikea and opted for express delivery. Around evening all my furnitures were delivered at my home. The guy who came from ikea quickly counted the number furnitures he had to deliver and asked me to sign the receipt. As it was around 30 items and as the deliverer counted and said ok so I simply signed the receipt of acknowledgment. After he left when I started thinking of what all I bought last week I found something missing. And it was one which had to be picked up from warenausgabe. I called coustomer care and they said will call me back. But till yet I didnt receive any calls.... I admit my mistake of not counting myself but is there anything I can do to get the refund of undelivered item?
Also in worst case can I return the remaining associated part of this item which I had to buy separately? Ex: glass /wooden doors.

Hello, I am sorry this has happened to you. In our experience IKEA can be really frusterating in terms of how long things take and it can really work on one's patience. Call them again, every day if need be and they will definitely get back to you and help you out with the next step. Also, make sure you aren't calling during what the Swiss often take as a long "lunch" hour (mid-day to 2pm sometimes). I hope it all works out for you and soon!

I am not quite certain I understand what your complaint is - someone did not return your call yet ? Calling them again shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
IKEA probably has the most liberal return policy in Switzerland. You can return individual items within 90 days, no questions asked. You will need your receipt.
There are only few exceptions on that return policy (for customized or discounted goods and plants IIRC).

Ask them for it!

You have the glass doors, so ask them when is the cupboard being delivered!

I didn't have problems with express delivery, but in one of my online orders the was one box belonging to other person and two of my boxes were missing (I found it out after I signed everything and after the delivery people left). During my next visit to IKEA (in a few weeks after delivery) I simply went to the customers service, returned the extra box and asked for two missing boxes. They gave me a coupon for the price of the missing parts and I took them myself from the self-service warehouse and paid with the coupon.

I am sure that they would deliver them to my house if I called the customer support, but we were going to go to IKEA soon anyway and the parts were small.

I hope they will deliver you the missing parts without problems.

I think that they don't expect people to check everything thoroughly at delivery. If every customer compared the code on every part with the items in the list, I believe they would loose a lot of time. Probably it is cheaper for them to fix occasional mistakes than to waste time of delivery service for thorough check.

Slightly off topic, and I dont' mean to hijack the thread, but can someone recommend someone/service to pickup, delivery and assemble Ikea furniture in Zurich?

Yes but many IKEA items are packed in 2 or 3 boxes, and you can't easily note that you have both cartons, cupboard AND doors.

I am sure they are wondering where they went wrong because there is one box remaining in the dispatch area.

I had a similar experience with missing & wrong box's but going into the store & talking through the problem's we sorted it out on the spot. They even came & dropped off & picked up wrong box's the next day.
They aren't perfect but either am I !! Far from it...
