Re: Weather!

Pretty cold and miserable here at the moment, noticed that there was snow on the Chasseral (About 1000m) again yesterday and it had all disappeared last week.
Not good at all.

Re: Weather!

Meh, this weather sucks! It's like being back in Manc

Looked at the forecast today and it did say next Monday a full sunshine and 24 degrees 6 days along is usually less accurate though, but we can but hope!

Re: Weather!

I took some pictures today shortly before we got PELTED WITH ICE HAIL!!!! Haha oh dear! It was kind of fun, and I was awestruck by that big black cloud and how quickly it chased us. Before that we were near the church in Baar, the bells were going DONG, DONG, DONG for what seemed like ages and the clouds could be seen looming from behind the railway, it was spooky and exciting! We had pointed at the clouds, knowing they were heading towards us and we tried to run away from them, but they caught up with us! Here are my pics

Hope they'll at least not bother you so much, it's a pity that not everyone can truly enjoy it..

Re: Weather!

Mixed bag here in Basel so far this morning - woke at 5am to what looked like clear skies, went back to sleep to be woken by the cats at 730 to clouds. Looks sunny again... and looks like the forecast I looked at Saturday for today is pretty accurate - mix of sun and clouds.

No, no no no nooooo..
Ok, here is the thing.
Spring, while wet, can be quite long and wonderful, with ability to have the windows open and be a nice comfortable temperature well into June.

However, when July and August roll around and it is hot and the air is full of mosquitoes, the "best" way (well, the local way anyhow ) is to wake early and open all the windows. Then, close them to trap the cool air inside AND before the sun hits them, close the outside shutters to keep the sun off the glass.

Yes, you think things are depressing and gloomy now, just wait til you have a month+ of enforced indoor gloom just to try to keep your apartment to a bearable temperature for sleep.

(Of course, modern conveniences like single room air conditioners and ceiling fans exist which will help, but they still will run much more efficiently if you do your best to keep the sun off your windows during the day)

+100 re the wind!!
My poor tomatoes and eggplants in my veg patch were having a tough time
Not to speak of how fast the soil dries out when it's so windy

Wow really?! It didn't rain here, I didn't think Zürich was that far away.

We've been to the park, I can feel my arms glowing a little and I just sniffed them I can smell the cooked skin (my husband doesn't know what I'm talking about when I say that and thinks I'm mental! Anyone know what I mean?!)

I am going to try to get out in it every day because I love the sunshine, I find it a big mood uplifter and as we are unsure whether we will be able to go on holiday(vacation) this year I want to bank enough melatonin to see me through the winter
