Definitely don't need an alarm clock when there's a massive thunderstorm raging above you. That thunder was seriously loud at about 6.30 this morning.

Thunderstorm with massive downpour of rain in central Basel.
Lovely! Well, lovely-ish. I cancelled my "live music at the Landestelle buvette concert" evening, but luckily the official Rhine swim went off yesterday in 31 degree sunshine.

A storm's about to roll in over Wallisellen now, winds are getting stronger with bright sharp flashes of lightening.
I do love a Swiss storm

Bad storm last night it was that strong it blew my big sun umbrella over and cracked 1 of the heavy stone slabs that was holding it down ( 4 was holding it in place) another storm starting now.

Absolutely bouncing down here with loud claps of thunder.

Well, it's taken a long time, but now it's time to moan. IT'S TOO DARN HOT!
Just been out to mow the lawn and I'm absolutely soaking wet with sweat and most of the lawn is still in shade. Had to have a sloosh down with cold water and a lie on the bed to recover. Ugh! No end in sight either. Temps are around the same in the US where we're going next week - still at least we'll have air con. I'll certainly need it!

It's a bit tough on students. The heat still feels like holidays.

We're literally melting in my classroom the school is a kind of metallic cube, so I let you imagine how hot it gets inside... Well, except for the director who has AC in his office! |
