Re: Weather!

We are running battery tests every day. The heat is on in many ways.

Warm tea helps me. Mint...hibiscus or thyme/lemon.

I don't think anybody thought of designing it... Considering that it's a furnace in summer and an ice cube in winter, with the roof leaking, it seems to have sprouted there in a few weeks from what the builders thought to put together... It was more or less temporary 15 years ago, and there's no budget to rebuild it.

I find it hot, too, but we shouldn't moan to much, it can quickly change and be rainy and miserable...

Re: Weather!

For those who didn't quite 'get' that word last time I used it- here we go:

https://youtu.be/kZMUAd7OJc8

Rock concert in our back field tomorrow to celebrate 46 years of the last big Isle of Wight Festival - and my first. Quite an adventure for a lass from t'Jura mountains.

Down to the Bunker is a rock group from Lausanne/Geneva/Savoie - all talented musicians and Music Graduates. The main guitarist is a student/friend/neighbour of mine who studied at EJMA and Lausanne Uni - and it will be great fun.

Bring a blanket to sit on the grass, something to put on BBQ and a picnic + something to drink - from 13.30. WCs and a kitchen available. PM for exact location detail (45 mins from Neuch and 55 mins from Lausanne). From 13.30. Weather will be great, and plenty of shade available.

Re: Weather!

I am in a singing camp, everyone is trying to hit the pitch right while not fainting from the heat. I love the heat but in nature, cement, buildings and cities in general are pita in hot weather.

You mean "rainy and wonderful" (Sorry, I come from Seattle)

I will moan every day, all day, during weather like this. I cannot function, I get grumpy and irritable, and I want to do less-than-nothing on my couch.

Unfortunately, the next forecast for rain isn't until next Friday

Re: Weather!

I just got back from a nocturnal astronomic fieldtrip, the weather was great! Hot but clear skies, so pleasant.

Saw Saturn with a moon, good "triangle d'été", voie lactée was really visible..the telescope was huge. And they had Milky Way and Mars chocolate bars for everyone, how sweet.

Coincidently, my husband has been out taking photos of the Milky Way this past three nights, and I kid you not, I stayed home each night watching TV and eating a Mars Bar!
He actually got some really nice pics, and met a few frogs, and the odd deer!

This weather is awesome for night sky observation, I hope he got some good pics!

We got lost in the middle of wilderness, I am glad my local surrogate sis didn't mind running through the dark fields.

Re: Weather!

Love walking in the dark- and it's amazing how light dark can be - if you see what I mean. Skies up here have been amazing as we have NO light pollution at all.

Boiling again even this early. Best go and borrow more parasols to protect our rockers.
