I would like to say goodbye to my best friend - the Summer. You have been with us for almost three months. Today we are seeing you for the last time...Rest in peace now and see you next year, hopefully as soon as possible! Ciao!
My long-term forecast is showing that the next few days will be wet and cooler BUT it just seems like a blip. There will be nice weather again from the middle of next week, although perhaps not so stiflingly hot.

The weather is so pleasant. So little laundry to do these days..a few skirts and dresses, that's all.
Little laundry? Besides the 'few skirts and dresses ours is = biking kit, plus more biking kit plus more biking kit ad infinitum. Mind you, it all dries like lightening, even the padded biking trousers, so there is compensation.

Plus all the towels from the evening dips at the badi. I seem to be taking towels in for the entire neighbourhood.

Yes, I can reuse mine as it's only been used to dry me but certain other peoples towels are smeared in grass stains and ice cream...

Well today is gonna be a real scorcher.

Good day to sneak off work early and find the nearest public
swimming pool to cool off.

Lucky you! I have to change shirt twice a day, dripping old me! September usually is my favourite month, when I can walk with a short sleeve shirt or t-shirt but have a jacket or sweater on stand-by, just in case as late afternoons are getting chillier... O sweet reverie, when right now I am in agony...

First gorgeous autumn day ...

Returning from 2.5 weeks in sunny, warm Tuscany late on Sunday was a bit depressing- cold, rain and grey - mind you, the weather also changed there from Thursday- big storms!

But today autumn arrived in all its glory- huge bright skies and sunshine- and the colours just beginning to 'turn'. Swallows and martins are still here, and red kites too- but it won't be long until they get the message and go.

Time to try the new jacuzzi, and then tomorrow go for my first mushroom foray in t'woods and high meadows. Autumn in the Jura is a truly glorious time

Re: Weather!

Mostly bright, sunny days this week, but the clear nights means the temps are going down and down. It's definitely getting chilly. Forecast to be near zero next week during the night. And of course my central heating boiler is playing up. Poor thing is just too old and worn out and we're going to have to replace it.

Re: Weather!

Gorgeous, bright, sunny, colours turning more daily - but cold with a stiff 'bise' today (East wind).

A 'perfect drying day' as my mother would have said and she would have been right.
It was beautiful and warm in the sun but the wind was 'sneaky'. ( another one of my mum's sayings)

Re: Weather!

I feel like I've missed autumn altogether. Having spent most of September in Oklahoma and Texas with temps up in the mid-90sF and higher, come back to Switzerland and enjoy nice sunny days with only 70F+ for a change. Then last week getting cooler and cooler and now here I am in full winter mode with the central heating on to warm the house up a bit.

I only need to buy back 13 years and work another 28 and I'll organize my corner exactly as you had

Re: Weather!

I'm feeling toasty this evening, sitting in a library heated to 25 degrees by the sweat of my own brow!

It usually takes a couple of days to get the ovens up to heat, but this year I seemed to have cracked it straight away. It's hard work, but a lovely kind of warmth.

I haven't even got my slippers on!

Ha, I just saw this - yeah, no more minimalistic summer clothes (that and gym wear, true). Chunky sweaters, woolly skirts. I pulled out winter clothes, the fall feels all much friendlier. So many reasons to knit, crochet, spin and weave!
